US dollar - has the bottom been seen?

Today’s rate on October 31st: 1 € = 1.1526. The best rate for the dollar since early August.

A strengthening dollar would increase the returns for a Finnish investor investing in American funds, because dollar-denominated returns would become more valuable when converted to euros, even if the return itself in dollars remained unchanged.

In 2024, the return for a Finnish investor in the U.S. stock market rose by 6.6 percent solely due to the strengthening of the dollar, while the S&P 500 index’s return was 25.0 percent.

Grandpa’s rate seems to include a goodwill premium. At least I have completely different numbers.

Cathie Wood on the US dollar: according to her, we are facing Reaganomics on steroids and will see a strong dollar going forward. An interesting, perhaps contrarian view.
