I’m posting about the situation on the other side of the globe (Electric Viking), and I also encourage reading the comments section. In Australia and New Zealand, electric cars are now completely out of control, and dealers are no longer serving tire-kickers; they are closing deals and filling out paperwork like there’s no tomorrow.
This is, of course, just the situation in Australia, but how does, for example, Europe or China differ significantly as a market area on a large scale? Now that pump prices are skyrocketing, and one fill-up can easily cost over a hundred, many are getting battle-weary with internal combustion engine cars. People are ultimately quite practical, and in this situation, electric cars will sell regardless of brand. Then there are those who like Tesla or hate it, just as people like or hate Toyota. A fanatic Toyota man will have a heated debate with a fanatic Mercedes man, and these debates will never end, nor will it change the fact that both have a place in the market. Tesla will find customers with these gas and diesel prices. Let’s not look too much in the rearview mirror.
