NVIDIA - Enabler of the Impossible
\nI can take a closer look at how the analyst consensus has evolved on Blump (Bloomberg) when I’m at the office.\n
\n\nAs I suspected…\n\nBloomberg shows 94 analysts, ranging from well-known ones like JP Morgan to obscure ones like “China Merchant Securities” or “Punto Research”, etc. The latest update came today, August 25, 2026, and 37 analysts have bothered to update their analysis during August. However, there are, for example, 42 analyses older than last June, and the consensus includes 3 rascals whose updates are from last year! Apparently, 12 months is the limit, as three analyses older than a year have been filtered out.\n\nSo in reality, you should probably look at figures from around 30 analysts, not over 90.\n\nWhen I read the latest comments from Bloomberg’s own analyst team, for instance, the consensus expectation is that NVIDIA will, of course, beat both its own guidance and the analyst consensus. \n\nThis is a funny game, indeed. For example, the guy from UBS writes “… we see FQ3 revenue guidance in the 107-108B range (and revenue ultimately coming in at $ 110B+)…” meaning they are predicting guidance that is further predicted to be beaten when the actual numbers are released. \n\nOr as Bloomberg’s analysts write, “NVIDIA will likely deliver another beat-and-raise quarter”.\n\nHere are the forecast ranges, with the orange dots representing NVIDIA’s own guidance.\n\n
