According to statistics published by Fifty5Blue (formerly Kantar), the volume of media advertising in Finland fell by as much as 15% year-on-year in April. Consequently, media advertising has decreased by a cumulative 7% during the current year. The sharp decline in April was partly due to election advertising for regional and municipal elections in the comparison period, but even when adjusted for this, the decline was 8%.

According to our calculations, based on the most recently published annual figures (2025), media advertising accounted for approximately 15% of revenue for Sanoma and about 17% for Alma Media. For Keskisuomalainen, the figure is significantly higher, as media advertising covered 33% of the company’s revenue (2025).
