The survey publisher, EPSI Rating, is owned indirectly (through the Swedish Institute for Quality) by the Swedish state, and the Swedish state also holds an approx. 41% stake in Telia, one of the operators being evaluated. In other words, one of the subjects of the study shares the same major owner as the entity conducting it. On top of that, Telia’s fiercest competitor in Finland is Elisa. In my opinion, this creates a conflict of interest for the entire study, or at the very least raises doubts about the survey results. It would be easy to eliminate such suspicion by having the study carried out by an independent body, which would bring credibility to the matter.
