Is lab-grown meat really a profitable business? Beyond Meat Q3 results yesterday. EPS $0.06. I didn’t believe in a positive result myself. The lock-up period for old investors ended and the stock price fell to $84. Is there faith in lab-grown meat on the forum? Analyst recommendations:
Well, vegetarian food is, of course, a rising thing and a trend.
But why should vegetarian food look like meat? Or imitate the taste of meat? Vegetarians and especially vegans hate meat, they don’t want to identify with it…
I do believe in artificial meat, and it can certainly be a profitable business. However, Beyond Meat’s valuation seems absolutely insane right now: the P/S ratio is nearly 40. The product is clearly good, even if it’s expensive. It’s also quite difficult to see any very sustainable moat here. Even if others don’t make exactly the same kind of patties, they can surely get pretty close, as there are already other decent vegetarian patties on the market. In that sense, this seems to be somewhat in the same league as cannabis stocks. ![]()
This claim is completely wrong. Few vegetarians are vegetarians because they hate meat. The biggest reasons are the ethics of meat farming and its climate burden.
Not far from the opening price. Unlock certainly intensified the decline in conjunction with the result.
Maybe combine this with CBD, and a new boom will come
Yes, it’s good that soy and other new products are being developed and offered. I repeat that vegetarians or vegans do not want their food to look or taste like meat. These product development projects should jump to the next level.
Day traders’ destination right now ![]()
There was a lot of upside in the premarket for today, and it even reached $88, but then we returned to reality.
The Canadian Subway deal probably boosted this.
No rush to sell, so let’s keep an eye on it ![]()
It instantly became overbought on a daily basis. It might move downwards next, once the biggest buying frenzy is over.
It’s still going strong upwards, at least for now. I’ve been following it since November but didn’t jump in. Now I’ll wait a moment to see which way it develops, I wonder if it will correct downwards a bit later?
It’s gone well. I wouldn’t buy at these prices, so I’m thinking of selling. I’m just so greedy, what if it takes another unnatural jump? ![]()
From what I see, the direction is upwards, even if there is a correction downwards. I plan to remain a shareholder. Journalists’ stories about the mainstream product strengthen my confidence.

It would be nice to know who is buying and who is selling…
Is there a good, concise analysis of Beyond with numbers anywhere? I tried searching on SA but didn’t come across anything very good yet
Are you familiar with SHAK? The price has gone up a lot, probably due to BYND?
oho, I read the thread, and wow, what a majestic rise it has been!
Today -7% on the board as an analyst downgraded “outperform” → “market perform” ![]()
Tomorrow, at the end of the day, earnings are coming. Any thoughts? I’d be interested in jumping in for the long or medium term. I’m mostly wondering whether to buy before or after the earnings report.
Hope you jumped in before the earnings. Yesterday’s +24% was sweet ![]()
Does Beyond still have more big collaboration deals to pull out of its back pocket? Last week’s Taco Bell news already rocketed the stock to a strong rise, and the news above briefly pushed the stock very high, and of course, it’s still strongly in the plus compared to yesterday.
I’m a little hesitant about the hype train effect here and how easily the price will also come down significantly.
I have to bump this thread, I just had some good vegan meals with Beyond Meat in Helsinki and remembered how good it is.
The stock price seems to have dropped 70% in a year.
Has anyone been following this more closely? Is it just a decline due to the war and economic situation?
This is still a top-tier meat substitute, anyway.
