Best stockbroker?

What do you think is currently the best stockbroker for a beginner investor?

I personally use Nordnet because it has that free super fund. You can get index returns diversified for yourself  then you can play stock picking with a small amount.

It depends on what kind of investments you want to make. If you only want to make investments of a few hundred, then OP or Nordea are good options, because they have a 1% cap on brokerage fees. However, both have a few euros in custody fees and other service charges. But they are the cheapest if you make investments of a couple of hundred 1-2 times a month or more often.

Another option is Nordnet, which has no account-specific fees, but the minimum brokerage fees are higher and it requires investments of about 800 euros before it beats the aforementioned options. Or, if you trade very rarely, Nordnet is good. You can open an account with Nordnet anyway, because it’s free and you can take advantage of the super funds mentioned by Emma if you wish.

If you want the cheapest possible option for investing abroad with Finnish customer service, Lynx might be an option, but then you’ll have to fill in purchases, sales, dividends, etc. on your tax return yourself.

Additionally: Lynx is not very good for beginners, because you can’t invest in Finland there and there’s more paperwork.

I initially thought about making one big investment in some small company for high returns, so Nordnet seems like my choice since they offer a 0.06% brokerage fee during the first 2 months.

Nordnet is a pretty good choice. I used to use Nordea and switched to Nordnet, and life was much better. The Nordea user interface was really bad and the search didn’t seem to find anything; you had to type the name exactly as it was in their system or you wouldn’t find the company

I just switched from Nordnet to OP myself when the pricing was updated. I’m an owner-customer and also an OSKL member. In addition to the updated pricing (max. 1% subscription fees), the OSKL member benefit seems to be that I pay a maximum of €5 in subscription fees with these amounts… For example, for a €1500 purchase, I pay €5, which is 0.33%. I mainly deal with Finnish stocks…

At Nordnet, I didn’t like the unfair pricing between customers from different countries, the somewhat shaky impression of data security, etc.

I also started using OP. Foreign holdings are charged an annual custody fee of 0.1%, so I’m not interested in holding long-term foreign investments in OP.

However, I couldn’t find stocks in OP-mobile from other exchanges than Helsinki, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. Is it possible to invest in other exchanges using the OP-mobile app? Additionally, I couldn’t find company-specific stock research there. The stock research section is there and only contains some morning overview, but nothing else, even though they advertise on their website that company-specific analyses should be available there.
