I forbindelse med Sveriges HIMARS-indkøb vil Saab begynde at producere kompatibel ammunition dertil, og derudover vil Saabs GLSDB potentielt blive integreret i HIMARS.

In parallel with the procurement, Lockheed Martin and Sweden’s Saab are signing a Joint Declaration regarding cooperation on the potential integration of Saab’s Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) and the production of munitions for HIMARS and other systems, such as the Patriot air defence system. These are important contributions for the increased security of supply of munitions.

Det svenske selskab Saab har indgået en hensigtserklæring med amerikanske Lockheed Martin vedrørende produktion af ammunition i Sverige.
Det drejer sig om fremstilling af ammunition, der passer til HIMARS samt andre systemer såsom Patriot-luftforsvarssystemet. Derudover vedrører aftalen en potentiel integration af Saabs ammunition (GLSDB) i systemet, oplyste den svenske regering.
Der er i øjeblikket mangel på lignende ammunition på verdensplan.
