No, the net debt-to-equity ratio is reasonable nowadays.
You’ll do fine with those bought under three, as long as the factory in the US one day starts making a profit…
Let’s bring an old discussion back to life. What are your thoughts? Can be from Finland or outside of Finland.
Dynacert from Canada is one that has potential. And it might not even take long to achieve this. Of course, everything has to go smoothly and the product has to be as promised.
Glaston?
Fellow Finance?
Yeah, you shouldn’t build an investment strategy around these, but it’s nice to have something like this in your portfolio. Of course, with a stake that doesn’t affect the achievement of long-term investment goals.
Why Glaston, do you want to open this up a bit? Just out of curiosity. ![]()
I don’t know, I haven’t looked into the long-term potential that closely… Just a gut feeling.
OK, it’s kinda the same thing, that’s why I asked ![]()
This would probably depend on whether 10x is meant to be calculated from now or, for example, from the listing price…
{“content”:“For example, a reference to this. From that comment in May, Talenom is almost 10x, and if dividends were included, we would be even higher.”,“target_locale”:“en”}
Yeah, well… Whatever we agree on. Herantis pharma, if successful.
So the idea of this thread is to find companies whose value could tenfold. Of course, these companies are typically risky or require a lot of time. Why are you so strongly against riskier investments? If diversification is in order, then you can certainly put some of your investments into these potential tenbaggers, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I previously flagged Talenom and Qt Group, and in my opinion, they have deservedly been good investments, even though Qt still needs to show its numbers.
For example, I spotted Talenom when it was around 7-8 euros, but I only bought it when it reached 11 euros, once it was clear it was definitely going to be a success.
From that 11 euros, we would have already reached 47 euros, or an even better multiplier from the 7-8 euros. You just have to seize the opportunity early enough. My invested capital in Talenom also multiplied by 10x later on.
I think you’re partly wrong, besides, if you put in a controlled amount in time, you can increase the stake as milestones are reached?
And what is ““cheap””? Talan was ““expensive”” at 11 euros, but look what an 11 euro price would give in terms of multiples now, 2 years later?
The dividend is also getting close to 10% with some 40% payout ratio…!
The listed share price itself doesn’t yet indicate tenbagger potential ![]()
Huh, I don’t quite get the logic?
To me, around 11 euros proved the production line’s functionality. It was clear it was worth buying!
If the expected return is the same for a stable company and a risky “10x or bust” company, then naturally the outcome is the same. However, in efficient markets, risk and return go hand in hand, so when you’re young, it might be quite smart to sniff out potential tenbaggers instead of looking for a stable 5% return from good dividend payers.
This isn’t a random gamble. I invested 20% of my portfolio at 11 euros. And when I opened a trading account with the key company, I also increased my allocation there to 20%. That’s my indicative maximum invested capital.
