“Novo Nordisk (NOVOb.CO), said on Monday it has filed a lawsuit against U.S. telehealth company Hims & Hers (HIMS.N), for infringing on the Danish group’s patents.
“Novo Nordisk is asking the court to permanently ban Hims from selling unapproved, compounded drugs that infringe our patents, and is seeking to recover damages,” the Danish drugmaker said in a statement”
From Bloomberg: “The company is seeking damages for what Kuckelman (general council Novo) described as “reasonable royalties” and lost profit. The drugmaker said it had sent a letter to Hims on Feb. 8 raising the infringement and demanding the telehealth company cease producing these products”. The Hims decision to launch a knock-off Wegovy pill was “a step too far,” John Kuckelman, general counsel at Novo, said in an interview. “Last week’s announcement was egregious and it was definitely a tipping point.”
