Nightingale Health - New Blood on the Stock Market

It seems that the Swedish telehealth company Supernormal uses Nightingale’s blood test as part of providing its services. According to their website, the company has over 10,000 customers.

Blood samples are apparently taken at partner clinics throughout Sweden. Otherwise, the service is provided remotely, at least in part via a mobile app:

Nightingale scores used in sampling, as mentioned? At least it wasn’t mentioned on the analysis side of the website.

There are no details on how to use the Nightingale test on the site, even though it is clearly mentioned under the Provtagningsnätverk (sampling network) section. A bit strange. I wonder if the use of the Nightingale test as part of the service is still to come.

The AI reports the following. Note that the answers may contain errors.

The Swedish remote health service company Supernormal and the Finnish health technology company Nightingale Health have a direct commercial partnership in the field of preventive remote healthcare.

Supernormal uses advanced blood analysis technology developed by the Finnish company Nightingale Health to provide its own digital health services.

Supernormal’s customers provide a blood sample at local partner clinics throughout Sweden. The sample is analyzed in Nightingale’s laboratory, and the results, along with health monitoring, are provided to the customer digitally via Supernormal’s mobile application.

  • Prevention of chronic diseases: Both companies focus on proactive healthcare rather than traditional medical care.
  • Risk identification: The service aims to identify the risk of developing common lifestyle diseases (such as cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes) years before actual symptoms appear.

3. Digitalization and ease of use (Remote health)

  • No unnecessary physical appointments: Supernormal builds its services on speed and ease of use.
  • Individual data: Both companies believe that when a person receives easy-to-read and accurate data on their own blood biomarkers, they can be motivated to make better lifestyle choices and manage their health risks independently.

In practice, Supernormal functions as a digital remote health platform and brand aimed at Swedish consumers, with Nightingale Health acting as the “engine” and medical blood analysis partner.

I don’t think it’s very constructive for the discussion to label someone else’s messages as spam without any comment on the content. The idea of a discussion forum is, after all, for people with different educational backgrounds to exchange their opinions, and if you disagree on something, it shouldn’t immediately be labeled as spam or worthless.

Perhaps NH’s greatest expectations will be met with other partners than Supernormal.

Exactly.

While waiting for bigger news, I occasionally dig into these smaller news items for my own amusement and share them here for information.

It is possible to spot trends even from smaller news. For example, it is interesting to follow whether telehealth services are gradually growing into a larger business, and if they are, in which parts of the world.

After a long break, news is always nice, and naturally, a positive reaction in the stock price warms the heart. There are no indications of the deal size in the announcement, and PHC seems to be quite a small player, so hopefully, this is just the beginning and more announcements will start flowing soon.

Edit: We also finally got the annual summer LinkedIn post from Suna.

Last fiscal year we refreshed the product, ramped up commercial operations in key markets and pushed the US laboratory build-up forward. The most demanding build-up years are now behind us.

This year is about scale: a strong commercial focus across the world, bringing preventive healthcare to more people in more countries. One metre at a time, the same way every summit gets climbed.

The home test apparently utilized by Supernormal was, from a consumer’s perspective, a quite functional and convenient service that I would still be willing to pay for today. During the pilot phase, I was able to conduct several home tests between 2021 and 2022. Now, a few years later, I would gladly compare those results with the present day. It’s a shame that the service in question was discontinued shortly after the pilot.

This actually reminded me that I go to donate blood from time to time, and it seems there is a constant shortage of donors. Personally, I believe I would donate blood more regularly if it were possible (even for a fee) to run a small amount of blood through a Nightingale tester during the donation and get the results in an app.

This is a reasonably positive sign, as Boston Heart Diagnostics is already a strategic partner of Nightingale, meaning someone is switching sides to a small Finnish company.

He already knew the company, so he knew exactly what he was getting into. A good sign.

It inevitably makes you wonder if it might be time to replace the “finger-twister” (CEO/leader) as well? There’s plenty of positive buzz coming from many directions, but is Suna really the one who can get these across the finish line?

I’ve had the same thought for a while now: is Suna an obstacle or a drag on success? Perhaps the Finnish mentality just doesn’t resonate in the big leagues. Fortunately, international expertise, experience, and better networks are now coming on board. If only the sales would finally start to pick up.

I don’t think there’s any point in pushing Suna.

Especially since none of us know them, nor do we know exactly what’s going on inside the company. And not everything can be disclosed either.

It could also be the case that the deals made so far are thanks to Suna.
