I would say that in addition to the short-term increase in demand, there has been a medium- and long-term increase in demand for electric cars. People are increasingly maturing to the idea that oil/petrol/diesel means occasional price difficulties, catastrophic environmental risks in marine areas, and the killing of thousands of civilians in, for example, the Middle East.
