Zaptec - Smart EV Charging

They don’t believe it either… or then they believe it when they should keep buying, averaging down…

Pareto Securities lowers the target price for Zaptec to 20 Norwegian kroner (25), reiterates buy

Good old Pareto! Hasn’t the target price fluctuated between 16 NOK, 25 NOK, and now 20 NOK within a short period!? Has anything negative been heard from the company’s side?

Not since the last earnings release (approx. -25%), and definitely nothing positive either. Waiting for the next quarterly results.

Zaptec has started a partnership with the Central Association of German Electrical and Information Technology Trades. This doesn’t guarantee any additional sales, but it will certainly be good for the brand in Germany.

Here are also some recent thoughts from Zaptec’s Country Manager for Germany regarding the development of EV charging. I like that he has included sources after every claim, making it easy to dig deeper yourself if you’re interested.

Linking this IS article here as well. The future of driving is quite confusing overall. I even traded in my EV last week, at least for now!

And as for Zaptec, it looks like we’ll be at zero in a year if the current trend continues! It’s unlikely there will be a report that satisfies the market next week either.

Has anyone here read this article? (Tekniikka ja Talous)

Nice-looking box in the picture, at least!:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

“Number one in the Nordics and third in Europe” is the highlight of the day!
The conquest of Germany and France is only just beginning, so I’m sure this will turn out well, at least in the long run!

Great investments if they can just get the operations to be profitable.
It seems profitability is a challenge for the entire charger business, in addition to the ever-tightening competition with bulk products.
The share price has tanked nearly 70 percent in 12 months; I doubt everyone bought the stock yesterday…
I would sell the shares immediately if I needed tax-loss selling, but unfortunately, the “warehouse” is already full of those

I wonder what will be served to us next week?

At first glance, this partnership seems clearly positive. At least it’s better than an empty box.
A few more of these and this will turn out well.

Another new teaser according to which there will be some announcement on June 19, 2024. Could this be the V2G-capable charger referred to in the Polestar collaboration press release?

Availability Q4 2024, Germany, Switzerland and Benelux countries. New software and other minor updates; I guess price will determine its success as these devices aren’t exactly rocket science.

I’m perhaps a bit surprised that Kempower’s profit warning hasn’t sparked any discussion here. Personally, I immediately started worrying about Zaptec’s outlook, but I ultimately concluded that unlike Kempower, demand for Zaptec’s chargers is driven just as much by the growth in the number of PHEVs, and not just the growth of full electric vehicles (not to mention heavy transport).

Does anyone else have similar or different thoughts?

Similar thoughts. I’m most worried about Zaptec’s share price, as it’s down nearly 50 percent since the start of the year and no news seems to trigger a sustained rally. It seems to be such a competitive (unprofitable) business that it might not recover; I’ll keep watching for now since the position is quite small and is shrinking all the time :see_no_evil:

I wonder if this endless decline will finally turn around now…
