Investment forum flagging discussion and post-mortem

The USA thread (formerly titled USA Presidential Election 2024) is, based on its title, already so broad that appealing to “straying from the topic” becomes a matter of opinion. If the specification in parentheses is taken into account, then a significant portion of the posts in the thread are already off-topic.

On the forum, some topics are like “coffee room” discussions, much like this USA thread is nowadays. Then there are the topics focusing on specific companies, where discussions generally stay quite well on topic. This excludes emotionally charged companies like the Tesla thread, which is more of a debate thread with high entertainment value.
I personally believe there should be room for all viewpoints, as well as sarcasm and humor, as long as we don’t stoop to low-brow insults or vitriol.
It would be good to define more relaxed moderation for certain established threads. It is certain that contributors will occasionally write posts that can be misunderstood from a different perspective, but whether that is a valid reason to block them is something worth considering.

If a Nazi is called a Nazi on the forum, why is the post removed by the staff?

I didn’t have time to see the message before it was deleted, so just out of curiosity, I’d like to ask who the person or entity in question was and if the post justified why they “deserved” that label?
From which thread was the post deleted?
In your opinion, was the expression “Nazi” used in the post the only reason for the deletion, or was there something else “wrong” with it, such as “repeating what has already been stated,” “off-topic,” “contained a personal insult,” or some other expression against the forum rules?

If you were speaking about a member of the German National Socialist Party, then the removal was probably unjustified.

If you used it as a political slur against someone with nationalist ideas, then those belong on Facebook and not here.

If the ultimate purpose of the term is to disparage someone—no matter how abysmal that party’s opinions may be in general—the use of slurs adds nothing to the discussion. It only lowers the quality of the discourse to a point where it’s no longer worth following.

At least this message, in which Sener calls an ICE employee a Nazi, is still visible:

I don’t know how it was concluded that he is a Nazi, but I haven’t looked into the matter in any more detail.

The difference was probably that the text tossed into cyberspace referred to the forum’s Nazis. I don’t know where they’ve found such people. Their Nazi radar is on high alert. On the other hand, if they’re spotting them as far away as the States, then…

I am quite sure that discussion about forum Nazis does not belong in the company threads, at least. Regardless of the terms used, I do not believe the issue was the use of the term (as the aforementioned example shows).
