Where did you get that oil and gas from? At least in the power plant I’m referring to, they are only used for startup, meaning minimally. And the use of wood chips and the like certainly wouldn’t stop even if the pulp mill next door disappeared. Apparently, the intention is somehow to emphasize our energy production’s dependence on those commodities – even though that’s not the case, at least in this instance?
In general, our dependence on these two fossil energy sources is very small nowadays.
