Personally, I wouldn’t be worried about that geographical location. Moldova is currently pro-EU, and I find the Transnistria region to be quite serene as well. I haven’t been to Transnistria since the war in Ukraine started, but for a tourist, the area was quite peaceful. Remnants of the Soviet Union can be seen in the streetscape. Furthermore, Romania is right next door.
