Situations obviously change, and in America, alternating between bloating the staff and “neutron bombing” is common.
But Qt has always kept the pedal to the metal, and the recruitments have signaled a belief in a brighter tomorrow. The stock market threw that belief out the window a long time ago, but now the company itself has clearly done the same.
People are behind the growth, and by reducing headcount, the company seems to be on the defensive now. In the end, you don’t win anything by just playing defense.
