Seeking low-risk investment tips for a short/medium-term horizon

Hi,

I am currently looking for an optimal investment target or portfolio structure for assets totaling 400,000 euros. My primary goal is to find moderate-risk solutions where the capital is relatively safe, but which are capable of consistently generating an annual return of approximately 5%.

In the investment strategy, I especially value the following criteria:

  1. Liquidity: The investments should be convertible back into cash on a relatively short notice (preferably from a few days to a few weeks) in case of an unexpected need for the capital.

  2. Expected return and form: I am specifically targeting regular and predictable cash flow, preferably paid out as interest or dividends. I am not primarily seeking aggressive capital appreciation, but rather a stable income comparable to “rental yield.”

  3. Risk management: Since this is a significant amount, I want to avoid high volatility.

Would such a 5% return target be achievable in the current interest rate environment by, for example, combining high-yield savings accounts, corporate bond funds, or stable dividend stocks/ETFs?

Ideas for these targets are more than welcome.

What kind of concrete investment targets or diversification models would you recommend in this market situation to keep the risk level moderate while ensuring the return doesn’t just trail behind inflation?

Probably some kind of 80% bonds / 20% equities allocation would achieve results like these. Especially if a larger share of the fixed income is high-yield (approx. 5% at the moment). Is the 5% return target a real return or not? Does volatility refer to cash flow volatility or valuation volatility? This is also a fairly essential part.
