Does anyone have good tips on what to buy for a share savings account? I opened the account well in advance, but it’s empty. What good dividend payers could I buy? Is there any other benefit from a share savings account besides re-investing dividends?
If there’s already a similar thread, please let me know. Then this one can be forgotten.
I’ve looked into it enough by listening to wiser people, and the withholding tax on foreign stock dividends can be so difficult that I, for one, don’t want to wade through that swamp. This limits dividend-paying companies to domestic ones for me, if I don’t want to actively trade. I’m also in a situation where my equity savings account is empty. However, there are macroeconomic reasons for this. I’m divesting from stocks into cash to await a proper downturn and the opening of the sledding hill.
