I bought enough EQT that its share in my portfolio is about 3.3 percent
This company has stable revenue streams, high profitability, and also potential for stronger growth “in certain respects.”
What makes the company attractive is also the insider confidence in their own company, e.g., in the form of share purchases. Other interesting parties have also been buying this company’s shares, especially now during the dip.
One major draw here is the safe yet profitable performance, but also those parts of the company that have significant growth potential (and thus risk), such as the Asian PE (Private Equity) side.
An interesting spot to load up on this is, of course, the dip of the dip. One reason for the deep dip is AI concerns in the software industry; the concern may be valid—I’m not saying it isn’t—but the company is anyway diversified into healthcare, infra, and real estate, among others. Additionally, EQT has diversification “within” sectors. And let’s not forget that the company has diversified itself internationally.
On the future:
The CEO stated that there is confidence in this year, partly because its position to attract capital specifically from private markets is stronger than ever before. Reportedly, the company intends to continue developing businesses and various operations through active ownership and an international, long-term strategy. The CEO also emphasized that the merger with Coller Capital helps the company offer even broader and better investment solutions internationally.
I wrote this in the company’s thread:
In short:
The company has a safe yet profitable track, as well as parts that could have nice growth potential. The company is well-positioned and has the strong confidence of its owners and management—their share purchases (too) speak for themselves.
