Optomed - Health technology company

The software project for university eye hospitals by Optomed and Zeiss is progressing promisingly.

Finnish university hospitals, with their eye clinics, have developed the aces-rwm operating model under the leadership of Professor of Ophthalmology Anja Tuulonen, with funding from Business Finland. The aim is to ensure “equal and effective care in everyday conditions at reasonable costs for society.” The tool will be launched in university hospitals in the summer.

“This can equally be acquired by central hospitals and private practices, and we are currently collaborating with eye clinics in Sweden and Portugal,” Tuulonen reveals.

So, this project is about:

A little more information about the project. It should, of course, be noted that the €350k mentioned in Optomed’s announcement concerned system development. If and when the systems are implemented in Finland and elsewhere, separate agreements will be made for these.

aces-rwm can be expanded to cover not only Finland’s 18 public eye units but also, for example, private service providers. The IT tools can be translated into all languages, enabling international benchmarking alongside national comparison. In addition, the principles of aces-rwm are applicable to all specialities and primary healthcare.
