Interesting Aurora AEYE finding from the USA

I found an article on the Adobe Population Health website titled “Protecting Sight Starts with Access”, which specifically discusses diabetic retinal screening and bringing it to the patient.

What makes this interesting is that the Optomed Aurora camera appears in the image gallery on the Adobe Population Health website. Based on the image, it looks specifically like the Aurora, so it is highly possible that Adobe uses the Aurora for diabetic retinopathy screening.

Adobe is not some small local player: the company states that it serves over 400,000 members, employs over 400 people, and operates in 11 states. Its target group includes, in particular, Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA Marketplace members.

Here is an interesting equation from Optomed’s perspective:

400,000+ members → Medicare/Medicaid → closing care gaps → home- and community-based care → diabetic eye exams → potential Aurora AEYE.

Adobe itself reports providing care in patients’ homes and using technology to identify high-risk patients and close gaps in care.

Furthermore, just in May 2026, Adobe published a separate article on diabetic eye exams. It specifically emphasizes that diabetic retinopathy can be detected through screening before vision impairment occurs.

I am not yet claiming that Adobe has officially confirmed using the Optomed Aurora AEYE. However, since they have a camera matching the Aurora on their own website while the company is actively building a service around diabetic eye screening, I find the connection very interesting.

If the Aurora AEYE is indeed in use by them, this would not be one small eye clinic, but potentially the implementation by a very large population health organization.
