Aeye Health is a relatively small startup, so they don’t have much financial muscle to acquire Optomed, and that is not even their goal—it’s either a listing or selling the company.
Unfortunately, perhaps too much faith is being placed in Aeye right now. No jackpots are coming from there anytime soon. Over the summer, they signed a cooperation agreement with another fast-growing company, Ford Medical, which is capturing the distributor market with a lean structure and thin margins. This is mainly aimed at pharmacies, but I personally don’t believe they will invest in B2B sales much at all, which is what Optomed would need.
In practice, I think Optomed will have to do the legwork and marketing largely by themselves.
Small streams, and without any major camera deals with parties other than Aeye, growth will be slow.
