The facility still does not have an environmental permit, but the application appears to have at least been initiated on September 16, 2026. For the previous company, the permit application was bounced back and forth for over a year before it was eventually withdrawn. In any case, processing takes at least a year. Without an environmental permit, the product cannot be sold, nor can any other commercial operations be conducted. So don’t hold your breath waiting for Kilpilahti to start generating positive cash flow.
