I started this new thread for these collections so that both of these important fundraisers get the attention they deserve.
Christmas Kettle:
Assignment
Letâs support the less fortunate and others in need even in difficult times to enable Christmas in every home! Letâs all participate according to our possibilities. Small streams make a big river!
Red Cross (SPR):
Assignment
The Inderes forumâs reaction to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine shows that investorsâ hearts are in the right place.
I extended the collection time since itâs not finished yet, and the need for help continues. Letâs reach that âŹ75k mark. Thank you!
With your help Red Cross helps victims of natural disasters and war all over the world. In Finland, aid is offered to victims of sudden accidents, such as fires. Donations also maintain the preparedness of volunteers to act in crisis situations. You are protecting the most vulnerable.
Every euro is important, meaning even a small donation helps. Above are two collections, and both raise money for very important causes. Juurikki put it excellently: âThese collections do not compete; they complement each other. At least Juurikki is participating in both.â
Can I suggest other Christmas charity targets here, or is the idea just this one target?
EDIT: Following Sijoittaja-alokasâs (Investor Rookie) response, Iâm also putting forward Lasten Liike (Childrenâs Movement) as a donation target.
Exercise and sports are close to my heart, and thatâs why I want to help children find the joy of movement. A sports club can ignite a spark for sports or even help one find a friend.
If there are others here who want to support childrenâs physical activity, there is a link below. Of course, all charity is important, whether itâs for nature, animals, children, or anything else. I hope you donate to a cause that feels important to you.
There are a couple of fundraisers started by Inderesians there, but I donât think anyone will mind if other appropriate and legal fundraising links are posted here in addition to these two.
All good fundraisers, but charity organizations are sometimes so heavy that only half of your donation, or even less, actually reaches the cause. This year, I again took part in the joulupata.fi fundraiser, as well as two fundraisers that touch me personally. Merry Christmas to everyone!
Large organizations have always been criticized for these things, and they have long had various compliance-type reports on their websites. For many organizations, that âwastageâ hovers around the 7-9% range, which is reasonable in itself.
Just a reminder about our fundraisers. There are links to the collections above if you would like to participate.
Our Salvation Army fundraiser: Letâs support the underprivileged and others in need even in difficult times to make Christmas possible in every home! Letâs all participate according to our means. Small streams make a big river!
Our Red Cross fundraiser: I extended the collection period as itâs not finished yet and the need for help continues. Letâs reach the âŹ75k goal. Thank you!

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the fundraisers!
Fix those links now and delete this message, thanks. Juurikki gets one more negative point closer to the Inderes lounge coal cellar. Itâs cold there, since theyâve switched to central heating or something. And let Uncle Masse out of the lounge cellar, if only for the sake of Christmas and goodwill toward men, okay?
Are the links in the opening posts wrong? Iâve now added links to my previous post that werenât there before.
Myself and many others have tried to get in touch with Uncle Masse, but unfortunately he hasnât made a comeback, even though weâd really like him to.
