In Sweden, things are really picking up speed. The services purchasing managers’ index, published this morning, rose to 57.7, its highest level since 2022. The industrial purchasing managers’ index is also at its highest since 2022.

Consumer confidence has strengthened month by month after the spring drop and is already at normal levels. Retail sales have also developed well in recent months.

Sweden is one of Finland’s most important export countries and a significant market for many Helsinki-based companies. It certainly doesn’t hurt if the economy in our western neighbor starts picking up.

I’m quoting this interesting highlight from @Karhu_Hylje from the “Stock Market Direction” thread here as well, as it might interest Investor’s owners. At least ABB, Atlas Copco, Epiroc, and Wärtsilä benefit from the awakening of industry. The share price has finally received a small boost and has climbed back above 300 kronor.

The results will be out in less than two weeks, on Thursday, October 16th, so we’ll stay tuned to see what kind of development has been achieved in Q3.
