Thanks for the good market reviews (varteista) over the years.
I had a feeling something was changing after the summer. Since the summer, the reviews have lacked that final polish, as if the mind was already a bit elsewhere. Of course, the standard has been so high that it’s hard to maintain it continuously.
\nI had a hunch that something would change after the summer. Since the summer, the final polish has been missing from the quarters, as if their minds were already elsewhere.\n\n
\n\nI thought I saw the same thing. But it’s understandable and healthy to look for a new angle in one’s career.\n\nMany thanks to Verneri, and it is especially great how you have spoken about history and used it to provide perspective on the present day. Hopefully, at some point in your career, you will also find time to leave your mark on the academic side. There is a crying need there for lecturers and other thinkers who would shake up dusty presentation styles with fresh angles.\n\nPoints to Inderes for that bold recruitment back in the day. Talent can be found outside of Hanken and Vesa Puttonen’s boutique!
Thanks for Verneri’s “vartit” (short market updates). Many will miss them. Timely topics nicely spiced up with statistics, historical data, reflecting on the present moment, without forgetting the future.
An approachable, down-to-earth approach with a twinkle in the eye. One of the best “live” presenters. Pleasantly relaxed and not overly nervous (at least it doesn’t show).
Verneri’s “melkein minuutissa” (almost in a minute) was a major factor in why I started investing in direct stocks back in 2019. So I can say that, without ever having met the man in person, he is the biggest reason why today I have a 100k€ stock portfolio in my back pocket.
Thank you @Verneri_Pulkkinen and the YouTube algorithms for recommending your videos to me back in the day.
You have been an inspiring person to follow because you have achieved a lot through your own actions. You have been, at least to me, one of the most interesting personalities in the Finnish investment scene. You’ve managed to popularize difficult terms, while at the same time being honest when talking about things. I will always remember and laugh at your Inderespod (Inderespodden) comment in the episode “Helsingin pörssin roskakori kultakimpaleet” (Garbage can gold nuggets of the Helsinki Stock Exchange): “If a bank’s executive team member appears with their shirt buttons half-open and wearing an LV belt, just compare that to how Nordea’s management dresses.” Those in the know, know, and after this, I too understood that a bank cannot grow faster than the Finnish economy forever. Too bad my fingers had already gotten burned in the market by that point.
This was just one funny memory among all the videos and other content. Furthermore, your and Inderes’s journey is otherwise a great example of how some people grow alongside their work if the passion is right. We could use more stories like this elsewhere, too. Big props to Inderes for the recruitment and culture!
Thank you, Verneri! The “Vartit” (Fifteen-minute videos) have often been the highlight of my grey mornings when I’ve watched them before heading to work.
Unfortunately, I really don’t know what I’ll replace the Vartit with from now on
When I read Verner’s message, I was expecting a typical Verner-esque laugh and a “gotcha” at the end, but no.
A big deal, something one kind of feared and expected. Best of luck in the new role and thank you for the quality content you’ve produced over these years!
Thanks @Verneri_Pulkkinen for everything and good luck and success in the future!
I’m happy for you, but as a selfish person, disappointed.
In my opinion, the “Vartit” (Fifteen-minuters) have been masterfully executed.
Very few people are able to analyze the economy in plain language and concisely.
Also, your endless patience and positivity are something we could all learn from.
Thank you, Verneri, for the great discussions and analyses on this forum. I hope to see them in the future as well, so don’t forget us here when your new job takes all your attention. Remember to drop by to chat, read, and raise the quality of the forum, just as you have done so far.
With these words, good luck in your new job and success!
That much falls out of my pocket just running errands in town!
As a continuation of our long-term operations, the Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanssivalvonta) has granted Aristoi a marketing permit on September 9, 2026, regarding a new fund named Special Investment Fund Aristoi Value Creators (Erikoissijoitusrahasto Aristoi Arvonkasvattajat).
The fund is aimed at non-professional clients. The fund will start collecting subscriptions very soon and aims to launch at the end of October 2026. The minimum investment is 10,000 euros.
The fund invests in international equities using a value philosophy, primarily in North America and Europe. The fund can invest in companies of all sizes, from small-caps to large-caps, and typically holds around twenty target investments.
Investing in the fund requires previous experience in stock investing, and clients must understand the risks associated with the investment, invest with a long-term horizon, and—considering the size of the investment—have sufficient capacity to bear the risk associated with the investment.
We will publish the fund’s official documents and subscription instructions on these pages once they are ready, and we will announce this on the company’s LinkedIn page, among other channels. Make sure you stay informed by following the page!
At the same time, we have also strengthened our team, which we will likewise announce in the near future!
In addition to this, Aristoi also manages another equity fund aimed at wealthy clients as well as discretionary asset management portfolios, and offers non-independent investment advice.
Out of pure curiosity and interest, I’m asking if anyone has any information/experience regarding Antti Bergholm’s previous track record in portfolio management?
Back in 2021, suggestions were asked on this forum for a new name for the “Melkein minuutissa” (Almost in a Minute) video series. My suggestion “Vernerin vartti” (Verneri’s Quarter) ended up being chosen as the new name, so at this point it seems like an appropriate moment to take a little piece of the credit:\n\nInderes.fi-sisällön kehitysideat - #1476 käyttäjältä nunogomes kidding, it’s been a pleasure to follow these videos as they’ve meritoriously gone through different perspectives beyond just number crunching.\n\nAll the best for the future @Verneri_Pulkkinen, you seem like a great guy anyway!
I had a gut feeling about this last week. During my evening walk, I thought that there must surely be a line of people knocking on Verneri’s door with various job offers, and the thought crept into my mind that he’ll soon be poached elsewhere.
Surely the rest of you think about Verneri on your evening walks too ?
From Inderes’s perspective, the situation is terrifying: Verneri has been the face of the company. Will a faceless corporation soon be wandering the streets searching for the shattered pieces of its identity?
From Verneri’s perspective, the situation is fantastic. It’s nice to chase dreams: I’m sure you’ll also do well as a portfolio manager.
I myself have been in a privileged position, as I’ve had the chance to shake hands with my idol at an Inderes forum meetup and exchange a few words with him.
Verneri’s videos and the unfiltered, fun forum content have given me a lot.
All the best to Vepu in their new challenges. Even young women have suffered from this departure of Vepu:\n\nAnd seriously speaking, it would be nice to know the figures from other Nordic countries as a comparison. It’s good that people are getting help, but only now am I beginning to slightly understand the lack of resilience emphasized by some psychologists and psychiatrists… Have a continued good Tuesday and good mental health everyone! Since it’s not an outrageously old fund house after all, part of the track record consists of investing other than fund management, which naturally affects comparability, but the track record can nevertheless be considered competitive. Especially when considering the investment era in the background, where value-oriented strategies have generally been relatively weak compared to the performance of US tech. And since it is definitely not a closet indexer, the performance could be considered good.
In my experience, he is a very sharp and professional guy whose investing seems to be a genuine passion rather than just working to fleece clients’ money. It might be that now, through Verneri, the company and its funds will become a bit more widely known.
