Inderes Coffee Room (Part 11)

This seems to be the case for pretty much everyone except Christians, not just the Jews.

I find it interesting that such cash cows are being sold. The buyer is unlikely to be seeking a lower return than what they could easily get from other markets
At the same time, pressure is being increased to raise prices for consumers.

In Islam, Jesus is considered one of the most significant prophets:

Muslims and Hindus alone make up about 40 percent of the world’s population, and both of these faiths regard Jesus as a person of divine origin. I’m not as familiar with Baha’ism, but given the universal nature of the religion, I suspect they also hold the view that Jesus is the Son of God.

In the news, some pension guy was talking about young people’s investing and getting rich. Let’s check the situation, but this poll isn’t just for the youth:

Why do we invest anyway?

  • Gotta get rich
  • Building wealth is nice
  • ± 0 is okay
  • Being slightly in the red keeps taxes nice
  • When everything’s gone, that’s the real investment scene

I’ve made some predictions, and clearly not in vain.

I didn’t know the reason at the time, but I knew the outcome.

I got some nice prescription meds for a knee injury. As a side effect, losses are starting to feel like wins. I wonder if I could keep popping these until the US midterms?

Roughly speaking, one could say that both price and taste matter. Let’s also reveal the names for the results, in the spirit of Tax Day. Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll!

This little hyperlapse video of Tokyo is exceptionally beautiful. :cityscape_at_dusk: :tokyo_tower: Hyperlapse means a time-lapse video shot with a moving camera. Watch it on a big screen in 4K; the image is sharp. Duration 3 min.

For the last 3–4 weeks, I have been “vibe-coding” a semi-professional hobby project I’ve had in mind for a long time: a Swedish harness racing horse database.

I implemented the work almost entirely using Claude Opus 4.7 (and partly Cursor), and I cannot praise these tools enough. I am not surprised at all that Claude is one of the fastest-growing companies in history, and so far, there is no end in sight for that growth.

Someone like me, with almost no coding skills, is now able to build in weeks, using natural language, something I have been planning in my mind for over 20 years. I have never before found a coder sufficiently passionate about harness racing who would have even remotely understood my vision, let alone been able to implement it. About 15,000 lines of nearly flawless code were generated at such a pace that it was hard to stop working.

While building the project and seeing the leaps Claude has taken in a short time, I started thinking about what else I can do in the future and how anyone can benefit from AI, as long as they first figure out what they want to achieve with it. I see that every small business will benefit from AI, and it will hopefully create broad opportunities, especially for young people who are already interested in AI.

The “new work” of the future could very well be a kind of vibe-coding for small traditional businesses. Every company, from a small brick-and-mortar shop to a logistics operator, can significantly ease, simplify, and streamline their daily lives. A committed employee who understands that specific business and can quickly identify areas for optimization can build useful tools in a very short time, often alongside their other work. Such multi-talented experts will be in high demand in the future, and regardless of the industry, every company will need them.

To provide a concrete example of my coding enthusiasm, here is the first test result.

I asked the AI to retrospectively analyze Saturday’s T85 jackpot round at BollnĂ€s based on the morning’s game analysis. The program found a horse backed by only about 1% of players and estimated its winning probability at 16%, even suggesting it as a “banker” (sure winner). In total, 3/8 banker candidates offered by the AI won, and the million-euro jackpot line turned out to be so difficult that no one got eight right. Lower-tier prizes also paid out thousands. Not a bad start.

I am not completely without coding skills, and I can read code. I iterated very systematically based on a clear plan and was surprised by how few mistakes Claude Opus made.

How do you know that the code is nearly flawless if you don’t know how to code? I should probably start familiarizing myself with this side of AI as well

Oh boy, I got so nostalgic watching this
 :japan:

Exactly one year ago to the day, I was visiting Kyoto and Nara; after staying in Osaka, Tokyo was my base for a week. I’m already planning my ninth trip to Japan—taking a break this year due to uncertainties, but hopefully back again next year..!

Japan has probably been my best investment ever; not a single cent has gone to waste from the approximately 25,000 euros I’ve spent on traveling over eight trips.

I really have to congratulate the person on their good luck, who knows, they might even be hanging around this forum. I certainly can’t brag about my own luck with the gaming I’ve dabbled in; I should remember to put a bet on since I’ve missed several weeks, you never know

Anyone could achieve this same financial freedom, but it requires the kind of mental fortitude that many lack.

If only we first stopped the Finnish besetting sin of wasting money on First North gambling and started regular saving in the safe Viking Lotto.
