Perhaps this would be more suitable for some updates, Inderes slightly revises the price, meaning they almost two and a half times the target price. Good “revision”, I wonder if a stronger expression would be appropriate for, say, a quadrupling target price ![]()
Joonas is indeed a high-quality journalist… where do these people come from, probably works cheap. It really brings Kaara-TV to mind in terms of quality.
Perhaps the best comment was this, exaggerated or not: “Strongly exaggerating, drivers in classes below WRC are driving who wouldn’t pass a driving test”
Well, this is not a statement on Kalle’s performance, although I don’t believe he’ll be at the back, and what is ‘performing’ anyway…
What frightens me most is being eaten alive, as that fate is quite terrible. Perhaps Kalle should still reconsider his decision.
True, one can’t even really say that it’s quite tasteless ![]()
It’s not wrong. You should change it too. Usually, it’s coldest at this time of year sometime between 5-8 AM. I always drive home from my night shift around 7, so let’s play it safe ![]()
Same thing ahead tomorrow, though by driving to a tire hotel and without raising my heart rate, only lightening my wallet. I’ll be driving so far north in the coming weeks that finding snow is even likely, and then I must have studded
At least the Chinese still have their own will left, unlike the Europeans who have abandoned their self-respect and do exactly as Trump dictates.
Good figures from Kesko today. The Kesko train has stayed well on track. Dividends are being distributed and the share price is rising. Woohoo!
I walk to work and have no need for daily driving. My car has four-wheel drive, and its summer tires are designed for year-round use in Central European conditions, which are also winter-legal in Finland. Nevertheless, tomorrow I’m changing to domestic studded tires. Black ice doesn’t care what kind of markings are on the tire when it takes control of the car.
Good point. I have wondered about this setup, where it is assumed (or perhaps rather desired) that the world would function according to Western wishes. China has trump cards that it can use as it pleases, and their time horizon and goals (and rules of the game) are different from those of the West.
We can, of course, disapprove of China’s actions, but I think we should strive to understand them so that our situational awareness remains realistic.
Recognizing facts is the beginning of wisdom, as Paasikivi once told us. That’s why it’s good to know even unpleasant facts.
Jaakko Ohtonen is the messiah in The Resurrection of the Christ film. ![]()
Originally, they met on the set of a completely different movie. There, Ohtonen was talking to his friend about the news from the Helsinki Stock Exchange. Gibson overheard and concluded that the first Passion of the Christ did not, after all, corrupt the human mind and body to the biblical maximum, and even if one wouldn’t have guessed it right away, a sequel simply had to be made. Jaakko, being knowledgeable about the matter, then ended up with a method acting gig. The plot of the sequel begins in the spring when forecasts promise a better end of the year, but let’s not go into spoilers.

The best time to start investing was yesterday. The second best time is today
My parents started index investing when they were 50+ years old.
I myself started at 37 and regret every day that I didn’t start earlier. I would have needed someone to calmly explain and advise what investing is and how and why they do it themselves.
In my opinion, investing was especially a taboo earlier, and it wasn’t talked about at the lunch table, nor at the dinner table, nor anywhere. Then there’s also the fact that if there’s an investment banker in the family, everything related to the topic coming from their mouth comes with such a big red flag. It’s a bit like a wife’s sister who’s gotten into bikini fitness saying, ‘Of course, you can start exercising a bit here and there, just do cross-fit 4 times a week and your abs will appear by themselves
’
So if there was just an ordinary plumber or a chef from a large-scale kitchen in the family, and they had told how every month they put a couple of hundred into Atria, and they had such and such a dividend return planned, then one would have listened to it in a completely different way. That is, if there had been, and if such things had been talked about back then. But no, instead, there was talk about lotto and scratch cards, and everyone knows that Dad’s brother Jorma from Pudasjärvi won five thousand with a scratch card in '97, and ever since then, the whole family has bought each other at least these cursed scratch papers as Christmas presents ![]()
A fork in the eye for anyone who dwells on the past. The main thing is that one started sometime; that way, things are in a better state than for the majority, and that’s pretty good.
If one seeks some positives from starting late, then at least there has been time to observe the world without “biatched” glasses. Those lessons can then be utilized when one illustrates to oneself how the companies one owns are actually doing.
This is true. At a more mature age, one truly already has an understanding of how different industries work, which players operate there, and what (assumed) strengths each has. When younger, investing in individual stocks might have been more like gambling. On the other hand, when younger, one could have invested in Microsoft, AMD, etc… ![]()
That’s exactly right!
I’m personally starting to get tired of preaching the good news of investing to my close ones, as my Wololo-style investment sermons don’t seem to be effective. Even though some show clear interest and I’ve even shown them my own returns, they still don’t start yesterday, today, or tomorrow.
I guess I’ll have to continue this slow but surely enriching journey alone and give up spreading the good news of investing. As far as I know, I’m the only one in my immediate family who invests seriously; I’ve only been able to talk about stock investing with my cousin’s boyfriend.
I started at 32, and it felt too late back then, but now that I’m 41, I realize that it still gives me a 30+ year investment horizon in total, which sounds really appealing. The compound interest effect is already noticeable, and the pace is only accelerating.
In my childhood home, investing was practically never discussed. On my father’s side of the family, not many even graduated from high school. In other words, a strong working-class tradition runs in the family! And there’s nothing wrong with that, it just meant that practically no one in my immediate circle was aware of investing – so I didn’t even think about it in my youth.
It wasn’t until university, through my minor studies in business economics, that I became enlightened about the existence of investing. Soon after the basic finance course, I started my investing hobby at the age of 22. Without that course, I probably wouldn’t have started at such an early stage!
