A very good compromise and an ingenious solution. It’s nice that politicians can marvel at the world from there
Here too, the cat is only allowed outdoors under supervision (usually harness + leash). And even though one might think that a cat wouldn’t tolerate them at all - it has just gotten used to it. And the reason for this solution is simply that otherwise, there wouldn’t be a single bird in the yard, because this one would kill them all. And just for fun. Primarily, I do believe that all animals belong in nature, but I think a cat is an exception.
It has climbed into a pigeon’s nest in a tree, walked over a viper like it’s nothing, and slaughters voles like Mossad agents kill assassins. The cat doesn’t care if the harness slows it down a bit; it hears and sees better than a human, so it kills almost everything that moves in the tall grass with a very high percentage. Being at the other end of the leash allows one to be at least a little bit of a brake.
@Omavaraisuushaaste has written about the best information sources for an investor.
The life of an index fund investor is easy in that they don’t need to delve into the world of investments, but for a stock investor, this is everything. The information sources mentioned in this text are, above all, useful for people interested in investing directly in stocks.
In today’s post, I will list the best information sources for an investor, divided into two different categories: free and paid services. I have personally used all the services mentioned in the text and I will also tell you which ones I personally use the most nowadays and why.
Well, the gold has been sold now. It reduced the weight by a gram, as there was so much water mixed in, since they have been stored in tubes with water.
The weight was a surprise. I thought it would be something like 2-3g but it was almost 6.5g.
A few hundreds came in. I won’t tell the exact amount, because I’m such an asshole and a difficult person. 5 banking days and it’s in the account.
@_TeemuHinkula had visited a big town to see the LapWall factory, and the thread contains an amazing story about the trip. In LapWall’s characteristic way, even the scammers were mentioned.
This was such a Pekkarinen-like remark that I read it directly in his voice Thank you very much for the report!
I appreciate it! In a way, I’m envious of this kind of activity and I’m disappointed that I can’t prioritize in the same way. My own well-being, in this case, comes before others for me.
From my forest assets, I have voluntarily protected a fairly large portion, which has already felt financially challenging and long-considered. This is the only more significant “investment” in the common good. But my own courage is not enough for this kind of commitment, where all capital is sacrificed for the benefit of the common good.
I was thinking about security matters but didn’t dare to ask. For example, in money transports, there are always a couple of tough-looking hormone monsters with security sprays and other gear. These were robbed quite a lot at one point, at least in Finland and Sweden.
I was wondering what kind of security systems these circulating motorhomes buying gold might have. Just one guy in the car. Do they at least have a time-delay safe or something similar? At the end of the day, there might be thousands of euros worth of gold in the cars.
Another thing I dared to say out loud, but I didn’t get any wiser. I asked, why on earth are you buying NOW when gold is at record prices? This is pleasing for the seller, but I wonder about the buyer’s motive. He replied, something like this: I’ve been thinking the same thing myself for a long time, but after six months, I stopped thinking about it So figure that one out.
Most likely, the purchased gold goes straight to be melted down, and they are left with roughly the difference between the spot price and the price paid to you to cover operating costs. They probably don’t carry the risk of price fluctuation for much longer than a day. I don’t actually know, though, at what point they can lock in those selling prices before the goods have left the car. It’s better for the business the higher the general price level and the larger the volumes, when operating with small percentage margins. No information, only assumptions.
It’s nice to discuss here with those wiser than myself. Thanks. If I had asked on FB or Suoli24, I would have only received teasing and vague grumbling.
Good luck to Mr. Market as he tries to get some sleep tonight.
Mr. will probably toss and turn awake until the early hours of the morning again, knowing that he couldn’t keep up with my returns today either (Mr. Market’s strange obsession). And after a poorly slept night, he will, of course, make even more hasty investment decisions.
Market should just give up and admit that beating my returns is statistically very unlikely. Benevolently, but with a slightly sarcastic tone, I could advise him to try index investing, for example. Stock picking (a demanding sport) is not for the faint of heart.
Nissan reminds me of Nissan-Renault. Nissan-Renault reminds me of the movie The Great Escape (starring Steve McQueen). In Nissan’s case, however, the great escape is not related to the world of cinema but to the escape of Nissan-Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn from Japan to Lebanon in December 2019. The purpose of the escape was to avoid Japanese trials related to financial crime charges. During the journey, Ghosn was hidden in a suitcase and other means of transport.
