Inderes Meetup - relaxed evening in good company

I asked in the Coffee Room about preliminary interest in an evening get-together for Inderes forum members. There were enough interested users that it would make sense to organize such an event.

When and where?

I suggested July as the time, because I’m on vacation then. Let’s discuss the exact time later in this thread. It’s not worth listing suitable days for you yet, because a vote will be organized on the matter anyway later. The event location is the Helsinki city center area.

What?

First, we could discuss the evening’s agenda, i.e., what to do. Do you want to eat, or just go to a terrace? I also thought about organizing some investment-themed program, but don’t worry. The main program will be chatting and having fun.

Do you need to give up anonymity?

Each participant can remain as anonymous as they wish. You can tell your own name or your forum username. As far as I’m concerned, everyone can dress up in a May Day mask and a garbage bag if they want, but that might make enjoying food and drinks a bit difficult.

Finally

Regarding the restaurant/terrace choice, I think the price level should be kept moderate. This way, the event is as inclusive as possible, and no one has to miss out at least due to financial reasons.

You can still sign up separately in this thread. This way I’ll know the number of participants, and seeing who’s participating typically encourages others to join as well.

Welcome everyone!

Evening program:

  • dining at Woolshed at 4:30 PM (Töölönlahdenkatu 3B)
  • during dinner, there will be a light-hearted quiz with prizes for the best performers
  • we will move to the terrace at Teerenpeli Kamppi at 7:00 PM (Olavinkatu 2)

So, I’m tentatively in. I’ll confirm once the date is voted on, as I don’t go on holiday until around mid-July.

If a suitable day works out and I’m free from work, I’m definitely in!

@KalleH put my name on the list.

Interested, if the schedule works out.

A Tallinn cruise would be a perfect fit for this. Many would likely drop their facades there… and it certainly wouldn’t be held back by the price level

Heading to the duty-free with an Inderes tote bag, that’s how you’d quickly learn to recognize fellow forum members

An enticing event, but I can’t afford to spend a single day of my Finland visit on it this summer. Hopefully, the idea gains momentum and will be organized in the future as well.

Great initiative in any case @JHeiskanen

Once I’m over this hangover, I can start thinking of ideas for the venue. Definitely in.

I’m definitely in as well, as long as no major obstacles arise.

Great idea and I’m definitely in if I can make it! As a location, maybe somewhere where eating is optional but you can also just grab a drink or a coffee etc… The weather in Finland is always unpredictable, so an indoor space is probably good if needed? Holiday and The Cock are the first that come to mind… Teatteri too. I think some meetups have been held at Roskapankki as well, but they don’t serve food. Harju 8 in Kallio is also cool! Café Birgitta is really nice and probably suitable for this kind of thing too.

Bring it on!

Yeah, definitely interested! Can’t really promise anything regarding the schedule though

I might not be able to make it, but it sounds really nice.

If I’m on vacation and don’t have any mandatory plans right then and there’s enough time around it, I’d be interested in coming,

I can then share my buying and selling plans there as a counter-indicator. :cowboy_hat_face:

Thanks @JHeiskanen!

Might be interested, depends on the time and place of course.

I’m interested in participating, depending on the schedule.

And I also need to follow the thread for a while to see which of the Forum’s million-euro portfolio holders aren’t coming to the event, so I’ll know whose username to ”borrow” for the evening .

Tentatively in, hoping it fits my schedule.

Possibly joining. If the weather is good, for example, Elite’s terrace in Töölö could be a good option. There’s enough room for quite a large group to spread out, and you can also get food from inside if you want. No table reservation is needed either.

Hi,

In my opinion, there is a fairly moderately priced pub right next to the Helsinki city center called Sköne at Kanavaranta 7 D, Helsinki. Usually, it’s not very crowded and it’s easy to find space even for a larger group without a reservation. The beer is high quality and cold, the price is mid-range, and for a place near the Helsinki city center, it’s even on the affordable side.

But yeah, I’m in as long as I’m not away on holiday (July).
