Thanks for the feedback! Now the whole team is back from vacation well-rested
Hmm yeah, we’ll think about how to improve that @Bjorninen! We will improve the filters at some point though
Thanks for the feedback @Gordon_G, @kettunen and @Tomi_Valkeajarvi! We could lighten it a bit, the last time those were tweaked was due to brand changes. We’ll talk about this with the team and will likely make some minor adjustments
Thanks for this finding @Seuraaja1 and @Pohjolan_Eka! We fixed that model portfolio case just before Christmas, but didn’t want to release updates during the holidays. Now that Qt is in order. The value creators are still included, we need to fix that too!
What could have happened, as I haven’t received Nordea’s stock market events in my front page notifications for at least a week. They are visible on the company page, though. Fiskars’ events, for example, come normally..
Thanks for the observations @Amatuuri and @Lartsa! We noticed this same thing yesterday and made a correction In the background, there was a failed data migration for two companies, which caused the notifications to get temporarily messed up. Sorry for the hassle caused, but now notifications should come normally again!
Would it be possible to get this channel, found on Spotify, also on Apple Podcasts? InderesPodi, Raharadio, and Talouden jäljillä seem to be there already.
Could that idiotic 50-character minimum length requirement be removed from the forum? The only thing it causes is that messages are just as short as if there were no restriction, and the missing characters are then filled with some filler, like
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Or
addingcharacterstomakeitenoughforthispost
So what purpose does that serve when it’s circumvented by adding nonsense to messages? That doesn’t prevent sending short messages in any way.
The increase in character count was a project by the forum administration and forum elite. This will likely never be lowered. This was the main reason why I tried to leave the forum. Now I try to write as little as possible, so I less often encounter the character count notification. And if the forum wants messages to be as long as possible, then why do messages also have a maximum character count? In both cases, it takes time away from busy people.
If such character limits are to be kept, there would need to be a character counter in the editing view.
Thanks for the feedback @Paapaa and @Vanerihands! The admin team can comment on that more, but at least from my perspective, this change hasn’t degraded the forum’s quality. The character limit encourages more forum-like longer posts versus chat-like short messages. It’s certainly a shame if people end up not writing messages because of it
Thanks for the feedback @OsakePaisti! The dividend calendar shows the companies’ announced future dividends, and in January, companies have not yet announced their results for the last financial year, and thus no dividend distribution either. So, dividend dates for the spring should appear there as companies announce their results. Or did you notice anything specific missing from there?
On the company page, you can currently see a company-specific dividend % forecast, but of course, we can consider whether the forecast should also be displayed in the calendar.
From an administration perspective, it’s probably fun to watch me stumble with the minimum character count, because I’m not a gifted writer. On the other side, there’s a writer equipped with a bullshit generator, so I’m definitely left behind. The end result is a huge amount of bullshit in the thread, which is due to the characters I forcibly invent to finish my message. That’s why it’s easier to keep information for my own use than to share it on the forum, because it inevitably leads to a short message.
I’ll also quote the forum rules. I usually encounter filler characters when someone asks something or asks for help, as well as in the answers to these. I also remind you that if you quote existing text from the forum, the characters within it are not accepted towards the minimum character count. Some then break the quote. Filler words and characters, as well as broken quotes, reduce the readability of the forum. I don’t follow all discussions on the forum, so I can’t rule out that the discussion may have improved after the minimum character count was raised.
It would be interesting to know how the Helsinki Stock Exchange’s years-long bear market has affected analysts’ forecasts. Have analysts become, on average, more pessimistic or not?
It would be interesting to see this, for example, in graph form over a longer period, and the forecast period could be, for example, earnings growth measured two years out. It would also be fun in video format!
