Hesuli - Hope lives?

In the coffee room, the course hype thread, and the meme thread, our beloved Hesuli is regularly slandered. Here you can freely vent everything that is wrong with Hesuli. Feel free to share positive things too, of course. Sometimes it feels like the criticism goes overboard in other threads or clogs up the thread, don’t worry, it won’t happen here.

Could this thread be a sign that we’ve hit rock bottom? Although even if we have, as soon as the US coughs, our stock market will naturally be blown further down.

There’s also a flaw in my research here, I must admit. If this becomes really popular, I’m going all in on Hesuli and selling my cars, apartments, and dog.

Hesuli, why don’t you rise already!

I believe that Hesuli will not rise again until Hesuli is sold to the Yankees.

These are those excellent opportunities to sell near the bottom and later ponder how easy it was to mess up.

I was already glad that this thread quickly gets replies, but these aren’t ‘the end has come’ messages after all. So, should I wait a moment longer before activating the lever?

Already two years ago, I remember hearing similar comments: expensive US stocks shouldn’t be bought, and definitely no coins. This mantra is heard month after month. Maybe it will be right someday.

It’s amazing that some people already know in advance what will happen during the next two years.

Here, Hesuli is either reviled or praised. Don’t shout from those feast tables to here where there’s nothing but thin pea soup on offer

I vaguely recall that two years ago, things were going downhill on that side of the pond too, and the despair wasn’t so much Helsinki-centric.

This stock market is incredible. When the index was 18600 points in 2001, it roughly halved from that. Without considering inflation and the loss of money value. In the US, the Nasdaq has probably quadrupled in the same time, and dividends are also distributed there.

For next year, I hope Nordnet’s monthly savings program will include

XTrackers Inverse Hesuli Daily Swap UCITS ETF 1C

XTrackers Inverse HESULI Daily Swap UCITS ETF 1C is an inverse exchange-traded fund (ETF) that offers a daily inverse return on the OMX Helsinki 25 index (HESULI) of the Helsinki Stock Exchange. This fund uses derivative instruments, such as swap agreements, to achieve the daily inverse performance of the index.

This product is not suitable for those seeking risk. The product carries the risk that Hesuli will rise, in which case the ETF

If I could even get it leveraged, it would at least be acceptable to me.

What I’m wondering about is that if Helsinki hasn’t participated in these upward rallies at all, and at the same time there’s talk of a valuation bubble in the US, then what might happen when the US takes a breather and slides down? It’s really hard for me, at least, to believe that Helsinki would then rise against the current.

*"You still hope for an opportunity,
you long for profit, towards the moon,
it’s as if the profitable times have already passed,
but those will still come,
magnificent rising days, which,
you waited for many years in a row,

Hesuli is still alive,
profitable days will still come,
you will still experience a strong rise,
you will still get the opportunity,

Hesuli will give you a lot,
it will still rest for a while,
even that wouldn’t be believed to last forever,
Hesuli is like a dream,
even if it feels doomed,
it’s worth being patient and waiting a moment longer,

Hesuli is still alive,
profitable days will still come,
you will still experience a strong rise,
you will still get the opportunity,

Hesuli is still alive,
profitable days will still come,
you will still experience a strong rise,
you will still get the opportunity…"*

The fact that it’s only the eighth best-performing stock exchange. Even here, we had to lose to the Swedes.

Indeed. When the US stock market calms down and more moderate times begin, the lump of money currently sloshing around there will naturally start looking for a better home. But it’s truly hard to believe that it would bring any significant joy to us here in the Nordic backwoods. Perhaps it will be gold, bitcoins, or something similar. Especially given the economic situation in Europe and Finland.
Benjamin Graham probably already outlined it back in his day:

  • US stock market rises => Helsinki Stock Exchange (Hesuli) falls
  • US stock market falls => Helsinki Stock Exchange (Hesuli) falls

He had other pieces of wisdom, but that one seems to be the most remembered and talked about.

So if we wait 125 years, we can still reach a pretty nice outcome. Surely the rest of the day will already be on an upward trend once your post spreads to the world. :slightly_smiling_face:
