If the offer is competitive, of course the job offer will be accepted; he has zero risk of failure. In a small company, you get stock bonuses whose value, if successful, can raise your income level to a completely different tier, but as an employee, you take on no risk. In drug development, in that role, no one cares if you are a “failure”—it’s completely par for the course in that industry, and in that position, you have zero control over the outcomes of drug development.

So the real question is: why are they only acquiring someone for a role like that now?
