Faron Pharmaceuticals - Innovative medical solutions (Part 2)

Poster alert! Nimba posted a poster spoiler, probably in better resolution around 4 PM.

On the left under RESULTS, the smaller graphs examine gene expression.
BaMaEo, i.e., the number of precursors for basophils, mast cells, and eosinophils (together myeloid lineage white blood cell precursors), then erythroid (red blood cell) precursors, and thirdly the number of CD8 cluster 5 T-cells. Cluster 5 refers to a cell population that destroys cancer cells, armed with granzyme, which is a chemical weapon that breaks down the opponent’s proteins. There is statistical significance in the others; CD8 could be read as NS (not significant), as very few populations have been studied with this sophisticated but expensive method. It wouldn’t be surprising, though the trend is clear—increasing in all with Bex+aza.

In the middle graph, however, are Baso/Mast cells, erythroid precursors, CD8 cells, and exhausted (TIM3 CD4) helper T-cells studied via flow cytometry. There is statistical significance at least in the amounts of white, red, and exhausted cells with Bex+aza. Once again, the numbers are small, but this increases understanding of the mechanisms of treatment response.
