It has been known that B-cell lymphoma is particularly high in Clever-1. In its CAR-T treatment, a high Clever-1 concentration is associated with poor responses. Now they are again looking at the same macrophage population, i.e., the immunosuppressive ones. These drive T-cells to exhaustion. Lymphoma cells polarize macrophages towards immunosuppression. Bex goes the other way. Now we should still investigate if the folate receptor phenomenon and Clever-1 expression occur in the same macrophages. If there were that one-hour train between Helsinki and Turku, they could exchange information.
Maija was supposed to investigate that lymphoma, whether Bex has preclinical efficacy, but we haven’t heard a peep yet.
