Bublar Group - hit or miss?

It’s quite a sledding hill :grimacing:

What else can you expect? Otherworld Heroes has only been released in a few countries, the Hello Kitty release has apparently been postponed, and the only news from the company lately is that it acquired Goodbye Kansas.

OWH won some gaming industry 1st prize. An apparently big recognition in the gaming industry.

That’s what happened, and OWH will be released in other countries as soon as COVID restrictions are eased. I can’t comment on the fame and significance of that award, but it will certainly help with marketing.

Yeah, it wouldn’t hurt at all if the stock took a bit of a bigger spurt towards the northeast. The main thing, however, is that the business stabilizes and they can concrete a bit stronger foundations for their operations. Interesting industry.

That wouldn’t hurt. I think the chances are good; there’s certainly enough expertise in-house, as long as they can sell replicable solutions to the b2b side, and not just heavy expert projects. Now, quickly get the games out and steady cash flow in.

Was there some news, it suddenly dropped 10%?

Nothing else caught my eye except that Nordnet seems to be heavily on the selling side. I’d imagine some individual customer’s eagerness to empty their piggy bank regarding Bublar. Nothing on the homepage either. Avanza usually gets the latest developments related to the company quite quickly.

I instinctively grabbed a little extra slice to lower the average price, hopefully I didn’t bite the dust in this prevailing information blackout.

I guess the new owners sold their shares for a profit; who knows how much more stuff is coming. Should I dare sell some and buy lower? Maybe that train has already left the station.

Here’s an analysis from the Swedish side: Bear 1.6, Base 6.1, Bull 8.7

It’s mostly been declining lately, but perhaps it will perk up now. A sad blow to the stock was the postponement of the Hello Kitty game to next year, which led to a selling spree.

Hopefully the biggest dumps have been seen and the price will start to recover. One would also hope for OWH’s global release before winter sets in again and outdoor gaming ends in the Northern Hemisphere.

It’s been as quiet as a church mouse. Almost two months since OWH’s last client update, and even though the developers have certainly been slaving away fixing backend issues, that’s a long gap.
Hopefully, things will change when holidays end and things start happening again next week.
Bublar needs money so we don’t end up going back to investors for another share issue.
On the positive side, OWH has been well-received, and the Q2 report at the end of August will also include GBK’s results.

The delay of Hello Kitty until next year’s Olympics makes me wonder: What’s the real reason for postponing the game?
Corona? Sanrio wants the game released specifically in conjunction with the Olympics according to its own marketing strategy? Or is the game so unfinished that it can’t be released in 2020?

I have a gut feeling that the Olympics won’t happen in 2021 either. YLE recently had an article stating that only ¼ of Japanese people are sympathetic to the games. Others think they should be postponed further or canceled altogether.

If the games don’t happen, it would be nice to know the release strategy. A complaint to Bublar here for poor communication, given that it’s a public listed company.

I still have faith, especially with OWH just around the corner. Lately, my interest in the potential of Sayduck and Vobling has also grown. One would imagine that in these times, it would be hard not to make money in those fields – though that requires duplicable products, not consulting jobs worth a couple of hundred thousand euros.

Let’s keep our money ready and hope for some exciting news soon.

The biggest limitation of these GPS-required games is that they don’t work indoors. This limits the playability and thus the monetization of both OWH and Hello Kitty AR. Curfews due to Covid have slowed down the launch and other reasons can be speculated.

The 10 billion USD market size mentioned in Aktiespararna’s report likely includes hardware, so 5 billion would be software, and half of that would be consumer products, mainly games. When Pokemon Go made 1.4 billion USD in 2019, about 1 billion remained to be shared among others. Globally, that is.

When the entire game market was approximately 148 billion USD last year, and mobile accounted for half of that, Bublar’s target market is less than 2% of the total game market, making it difficult to generate very high revenue. It is certainly possible, as Ninantic’s example shows. Hello Kitty targets exactly the same demographic.

AR is a nice thing and Hello Kitty is a good brand, but can Bublar make a good game?

GBK has received an Emmy nomination for the Jack Ryan series. Some positive news from this company for a change.

That primate throwing darts made a lot of good points. This house hasn’t excelled in game development before. I play a lot myself, but not really mobile games. Still, I’d say that testing OWH left mostly positive feelings, but as you said, GPS-based gaming requires even more commitment from the player base.

When it comes to HK, if the game resonates with the target audience at all, the question is certainly more about monetization challenges. For example, the Hello Kitty nail painting game has been downloaded by over 100 million players. How large a portion of this sample uses money for in-game purchases?

How much popularity should games expect to be called successes? What should a game’s revenue be for it to truly be reflected in the stock’s value development (preferably upwards)?

The Emmy nomination is also quite nice. All publicity is a plus.

On the Swedish forum, many seem to be confused about GBK and Cyberpunk. It feels like they imagine that game will bring money to GBK. Surely these have a fixed hourly rate + project billing, and the game’s financial success (Cyberpunk will easily be game of the year, mark my words) belongs to CD Projekt Red.

Apparently, Otherworld Heroes will be released in a few new countries tomorrow and testing will be expanded. The stock price also perked up a bit after a long time, and it’s not a constant decline anymore.

Yeah, it’ll be published. Interesting to see how many and what effect it has on the share price. Next Friday is the Q2 earnings report and GBK’s numbers. How exciting!
