Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu highlighted in his letter to employees last year’s achievements, such as the popularity of the AI application Qianwen and the effective synergy between different business areas, as well as how the company is expanding its services, etc.
He spoke of AI as an opportunity and a tool for boosting efficiency rather than a replacement for humans (perhaps partly to reassure employees). He also pointed out the company’s ability to turn even challenging market situations to its advantage through innovation and the development of services.
