Here’s a good Twitter thread about Uber. ![]()

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against Uber, alleging that the company charges customers for Uber One subscriptions without their consent.
According to the FTC, Uber provides misleading information about savings, makes it difficult to cancel subscriptions, and violates consumer protection laws. Uber, of course, denies the allegations and states that subscriptions can be easily canceled within the app.
“Americans are tired of getting signed up for unwanted subscriptions that seem impossible to cancel,” FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson said in a statement. “The Trump-Vance FTC is fighting back on behalf of the American people.”

UBER starts cooperation with VW in autonomous driving. Progressing as planned. Several AV experts and partners are starting to form who trust UBER’s marketplace.
Since April, @aurora_inno’s self-driving trucks have been completing roundtrip hauls between Dallas and Houston!
With this milestone, Uber Freight becomes the first logistics platform to offer shippers access to fully driverless Class 8 trucks operating on public roads.
Uber and May Mobility Announce Strategic Partnership to Scale Autonomous Vehicles
Arlington, Texas identified as first city to launch May Mobility AVs on the Uber platform later this year. The companies aim to quickly scale AV use for ride-hail. The news signals May Mobility’s growing leadership as an Autonomy-as-a-Service (AaaS) platform of choice.
Uber plans to launch a robotaxi service in Europe in 2026 in cooperation with Chinese company Momenta.
Momenta will provide the self-driving technology, while Uber brings its own ride-hailing network. Uber had previously developed its own self-driving technology but sold it to Aurora Technologies in 2020.
This is Uber’s first significant AV partnership outside of China.
This is a good and illustrative tweet, so I’ll put it here. ![]()
The message of the tweet is something like this; autonomous driving technology is clearly changing faster than expected. Waymo is already operational, Tesla and Nvidia are still developing theirs. As the technology becomes more widespread, its distribution will be crucial – and the company in this chain, Uber, controls that.
It seems AV is more of an opportunity than a threat for UBER. At least new expansions are announced every week. No wonder the stock price is near ATH again.
Uber to acquire an 85 percent stake in Turkish food ordering platform Trendyol GO for $700 million.
The deal is still awaiting regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second half of 2025. Uber states that the acquisition supports its growth in Turkey.
The company has significantly increased its user base, and the number of trips has grown even further.
Customer retention is at a record high globally, and Uber achieved record results and free cash flow. Collaboration with Waymo has started promisingly in Austin.
The company formed several autonomous vehicle partnerships and is expanding widely into different regions through them. The company also established new collaborations with OpenTable and Delta, among others.
Insurance costs have clearly decreased, and the largest cities continue to grow strongly. On the plus side, demand is growing rapidly in less densely populated areas.

Here’s another good tweet about the result, and it has a nice, very handy table. ![]()
Uber Technologies segment highlights

And recommendation upgrades

With an average target price of 94.24 USD, Uber is doing well.
Let’s also bring this up separately; According to Uber, Waymo’s robotaxis in Austin complete more daily rides than 99 percent of human drivers (?!).
This service has been exclusively available in the Uber app since March, and its success has exceeded the company’s expectations.
A one-minute read, no paywall.

Uber is expanding its territory, at least according to a rumor.
The article below describes how Uber has released new features to ease commuting and reduce costs.
New systems enable more affordable shared rides in busy areas. Pre-paid “ride passes” that standardize prices will also be introduced. Additionally, Uber is investing in autonomous vehicles and expanding partnerships with companies like Volkswagen and Waymo. Uber One members are also offered benefits, such as discounts and points.

The tweet below states that Uber is growing into a versatile app/platform that is rapidly expanding beyond food and rides to include restaurant reservations, ordering electronics junk, etc.
According to the tweet, with its delivery network, it has the potential to expand into almost any service in the future.

Here is SalkunRakentaja’s article about Uber, partly familiar information that can already be found in this thread, but a good read for a few minutes.
Subheadings:
"Key Points
Waymo is grabbing market share from Lyft and Uber:

It is noteworthy that rides are more expensive with Waymo, despite which Waymo is unprofitable. At least for now.
