As an inexperienced index fund investor, I have some questions regarding the OMX Helsinki 25 index. Can it replace owning the largest stocks on the Helsinki Stock Exchange? Is the index significantly cheaper before the dividend season? In the long run, do you get the best returns from the index through passive monthly investing, or is it worth waiting for those 2-3% drop days? Does index investing take the joy and excitement out of stock trading?

Equal Weight ETFs are looking interesting now, especially US ones. Their costs are also very low, e.g., 0.18 - 0.5%. But I’m wondering if the constant “rebalancing” of this type of ETF incurs high costs that are not visible in that fee. In Equal Weight, you have to sell stocks that have grown significantly and buy those that have decreased.
