In connection with Sweden’s HIMARS procurement, Saab will begin manufacturing compatible ammunition, and Saab’s GLSDB will potentially be integrated into HIMARS.

In parallel with the procurement, Lockheed Martin and Sweden’s Saab are signing a Joint Declaration regarding cooperation on the potential integration of Saab’s Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) and the production of munitions for HIMARS and other systems, such as the Patriot air defence system. These are important contributions for the increased security of supply of munitions.

Mention regarding Saab:
Sweden’s Saab has signed a joint declaration with US-based Lockheed Martin concerning the production of ammunition in Sweden.
The matter concerns the manufacturing of ammunition suitable for HIMARS as well as other systems, such as the Patriot system. In addition, the agreement covers the potential integration of Saab’s ammunition (GLSDB) into the system, the Swedish government stated.
There is currently a global shortage of similar ammunition.
