Revenio will increasingly become a “Full Stack” in eye health – but I’m skeptical whether additional value can be created in this field by being full stack. It probably doesn’t matter if the optometrist chain / medical center’s eye pressure meter / OCT device / camera / refractometer is from the same / different manufacturer. In a way, I see the vision where all these functions integrate into one data-centric solution that brings added value to the user based on the data it produces; if that can be created, then maybe there’s something there. But this is still speculation.
Fortunately, the only overlap in acquired functions is cameras, but devices are low-margin products in a highly competitive field.
It remains to be seen whether a full stack approach creates value. Time to prove it.
