Palantir Technologies

Regarding Palantir, here are my thoughts on why Palantir remains a viable investment stock for me, even though its valuation is in a league of its own:

Palantir’s net dollar retention rate indicates how much existing customers increase their purchases annually. The value is now 134% (Q3 2025).

This means that even if no new customers were acquired, existing customers’ purchases are currently growing at an annual rate of 34%. So the company is growing well, and growth could accelerate because private sector growth in the USA is explosive, at 121% in Q3 2025.

Perhaps those were the most important figures for me. Because they contain what I’m looking for - strong growth. And the company is debt-free - cash balance of $6 billion.

As a bonus, there’s the government business. One can talk about Palantir without politics, but I always want to do my own ESG check. In the past period, it became clear to me that Palantir’s US government business significantly expanded and developed during Barack Obama’s tenure. It has even been said that Obama once wanted to take Palantir’s software to the Saudis, but Karp refused. Adam, A.K.A. Gokarp, also talks a bit about this politics in the video I’ll link below. Gokarp’s point is that Palantir, having gained a foothold in the US administration during a Democratic era, is here to stay regardless of the ruling party. Gokarp and his support team, such as Bobcat Gang and 007, are constantly doing uncompromising work by researching US government tenders and Palantir’s acquired deals. What gives me faith in the future and in big deals is that in 2025, the Army published a $10 billion procurement program with 75 different sub-areas. Some of these 75 sub-areas are such that, according to Gokarp, no one else can respond to them, only Palantir. Gokarp also points out in the video that the Army is just one part, and similar programs will come in the coming years from the Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and the Strategic Unit (which handles first strikes and the nuclear arsenal). If you don’t have time to watch the whole video, start at 1 hour 9 minutes. From there, Gokarp summarizes the challenges of investing in Palantir very well, but states directly that it’s worth reading a lot, and if you can’t listen to Karp, it’s good to check out customer references, they tell a lot.

Investing in Palantir is indeed peculiar. Especially from the perspective of information gathering. The numbers are strong and clear and speak to Palantir’s strength. But in addition, one must follow what Gokarp, Bobcat Gang, and 007 dig up and tell us (I follow Gokarp on X, where Gokarp shares his background team’s findings). I think that if only the numbers continue their good upward curve (but the big government matters brought up by Gokarp’s team do not materialize), the stock will eventually halve compared to if the outlines of Gokarp, Bobcat Gang, and 007 also come true. I accept the risk because the company, in terms of numbers, growth, margins, etc., is exactly what I want from a company. And as a bonus, there might be deals worth billions, even tens of billions, with various US defense branches and NATO countries. The company is at an interesting stage in my eyes.

The video I referred to, where Amit Kukreja interviews Palantir OG, Adam A.K.A. Gokarp. Link at the bottom. After 1 hour 9 minutes, things are summarized.

Chad is an IT architect at Palantir. He is also an explainer of Palantir’s software for the general public. Now he has made a video (link at the bottom) where he explains what Palantir’s IT service is all about. It’s not a long video, but it gets straight to the point, which is how Palantir’s added value is built. I’ll try to put it into words myself: Palantir first models objects (data), i.e., things with many dimensions; a car can have a price, weight, speed, passenger capacity, fuel consumption, etc. Here, an object-oriented modeling approach is used. No rocket science. Then, utilizing language models, Palantir retrieves and clarifies all rules (logic) from different sources (Excel files, machine learning models, workflow diagrams, etc.). So, no rocket science. Then Palantir clarifies all the things and operations that make a company run, e.g., identifying sales-order-delivery chains, maintenance, and spare parts operations. So, no rocket science.

It starts to become rocket science when all the aforementioned things are woven together using language models and machine learning. And this is how a virtual digital twin of a physical company, organization, or even a battlefield begins to form. Analytical tools are deployed to present a situational picture and support decision-making. With software development kits, data can be shared and refined for the needs of the end-user, which could be, for example, an installer on a base station mast, where they automatically receive online instructions on how to proceed and images from drawings.

Palantir is not a silver bullet for a single problem. But its moat is that 99% of software companies do some of the modules I described above, such as an ERP system. To my knowledge, Palantir is the only one that creates a digital twin of a situation or a company, combining all processes and functions, from product development to invoicing and even debt collection, if desired.

On X, there’s a story published by Palantir about how AI helps in identifying and finding victims of human trafficking. These are the use cases where software’s help is very concrete and tangible. Pictured: Melissa Snow, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The U.S. Navy has signed a $448 million contract with Palantir for an AI-powered maintenance and logistics system called ShipOS, which will initially be deployed in at least submarines.

In pilots, maintenance planning time has dropped from about 160 hours to less than ten minutes :scream:, and, for example, determining spare parts availability has been reduced from weeks to hours.

This system can later be expanded to, for example, aircraft carriers and fighter jets.

It’s refreshing to follow Palantir’s path, where AI is used to do concrete things; and not just optimize advertising. I don’t know what other AI company has gone as deep into mechanical manufacturing processes as Palantir is doing now. In the Navy deal, in addition to the production economics angle, there is a significant security policy angle. The USA does not have enough ships to challenge China at sea. It doesn’t immediately come to mind that shipbuilding would be accelerated by AI, but that’s what this is about now. And Palantir’s invoices are a rounding error when you bundle what submarines, aircraft carriers, and all smaller boats cost. I wouldn’t be surprised if the payback period for Palantir’s invoices was only months per vessel. And some other country, e.g., Korea, Japan, etc., might follow the Navy’s example to speed up their production.

Thanks @leemsegit for encouraging me to read this. Now I’ve read this:

The book is a story about needing to have an opinion, and if you don’t have an opinion, then you don’t have values for which you work wisely instead of just pleasing the boss, or for which you raise children instead of just providing food and clothes, or for which you support the weaker in ways other than just paying mandatory taxes. Europe and Finland’s political leadership are currently struggling with half-truths. Except for our president, he knows how to speak the truth, but does it so politely that the half-truth overrides it.

I recommend it as a reading experience, a challenging book to read, but thought-provoking.

I think this video circulating on X fits well at the end, hopefully visible to everyone:

Palantir Announces Renewal of Multi-Year Contract with the DGSI

After various Hollywood-style Palantir hype, it’s good to return to Europe and note that France’s internal security and intelligence service has signed a three-year contract renewal with Palantir. Particularly interesting here is this sentence excerpted from the news (see below): “Additionally, it is part of a broader effort to support the transition towards French autonomy, in line with the French government’s strategic directions.” So, Palantir’s implementation is in line with French requirements, supports the state’s autonomy (independence), and has been implemented according to France’s strategic guidelines. A few weeks ago, Macron was of the opinion that it is a “state crime” to use non-European software. Talk is talk, but in reality, functionality decides.

Palantir’s Paragon 2025 event was held in December. The Paragon event has taken place at least twice now. At Paragon, Palantir outlines its near-future guidelines regarding AI. According to an AI (not Palantir’s): “Paragon 2025 showed Palantir’s transition from traditional data integration toward even broader AI and agent-based business autonomy, where Ontology serves as the central structure. The goal was to turn all industries into digitally self-directed, self-healing systems.”

I watched a video clip from Paragon; the case study seemed to be an American pharmaceutical manufacturer—the data in the demo was illustrative. My point is that Palantir has already moved forward in terms of AI. Some are still ruminating on whether AI is of any benefit at all. But when you watch the video calmly, the process automation and automatic corrective actions through AI agents have been taken very far. A couple of images from the video:

image

A bit small, but above is the company’s “big picture” (digital twin) in the world. And then:

image

In this situation, there is a production disruption; the digital twin has identified and fixed the problem using AI agents. However, a technician’s check is required, and both a technician and an inspection time were automatically booked for that. I oversimplified my description slightly; the video has a more detailed story.

The video is here:

AIP 2026: The Self-Healing Autonomous Enterprise | Paragon 2025

My conclusion is this: Palantir knows its stuff and is already providing value to its customer companies. And it’s doing a lot. This isn’t about some AI piloting or consultants waving their hands. AIP (Enterprise AI Platform) automates, reacts, and also automatically develops the process. In AIP, ADP (Automatic Data Processing) is literally automatic data processing that includes automatic Self-Healing and development. ADP → ADP&SH.

PTFB (Get out of the way) because Palantir operates in all industries, from military solutions to healthcare and, for example, mechanical engineering (e.g., submarines).

This is not investment advice; please do your own analysis. But my analysis says the leverage on the stock is significant precisely because of its replicability.

I asked an AI to compare Palantir’s development between the Paragon 2024 and 2025 events. The difference is interesting and significant:

Paragon 2025 differed from the previous year’s event (Paragon 2024) particularly in the following ways:

:white_check_mark: 1. Focus shifted from data to autonomy

  • 2024: Focused on how AIP (Artificial Intelligence Platform) integrates data and creates AI-assisted applications.

  • 2025: Emphasized autonomous agents and “self-healing operations”—systems that fix themselves and optimize processes without constant human guidance.

:white_check_mark: 2. Ontology took center stage

  • 2024: Ontology was more in the background for data modeling.

  • 2025: Ontology was presented as the strategic core that enables management of the entire operational field and agent-based activity.

:white_check_mark: 3. Use cases expanded

  • 2024: Focus was mainly on manufacturing, logistics, and defense.

  • 2025: Included healthcare (Tampa General Hospital, R1 RCM), real estate (Healthpeak), and building automation (Johnson Controls)—demonstrating AIP’s cross-industry applicability.

:white_check_mark: 4. Message changed

  • 2024: “AI as a co-pilot”—AI supports humans.

  • 2025: “Human-AI teaming” and autonomous agents—AI doesn’t just support, it acts independently and together with humans.

AI startup Percepta AI is accusing Palantir of intending to destroy them, a “young competitor,” and intimidating its employees with legal action.

Palantir accuses its former employees of stealing trade secrets and poaching talent, but Percepta naturally denies the claims as baseless.

According to the article, the legal battle boils down to whether Palantir is trying to protect its inventions or merely stifle free competition through its unreasonable contract interpretations or similar tactics.

Attorneys said in Monday’s filing that in-depth searches did not find any Palantir materials and argued that the screenshots taken by Cohen were done in “good faith” to help her complete tasks. They said the materials “would be useless to Percepta and are by now stale regardless.”

Palantir seems to have delivered a really strong result; at least it beat expectations by a wide margin.

Growth has been genuinely impressive, particularly in the US market, where commercial customers have truly embraced the services. Palantir is able to generate profit while expanding and developing at a rapid pace. Furthermore, it’s in a league of its own—the speed is high yet highly efficient, rather than just reckless expansion… it’s difficult for competitors to step in and compete.

The future outlook is also exceptionally bright; the company expects strong momentum to continue as new major contracts are secured and the customer base grows. As can be inferred, the guidance provided to the market is bold, but on the other hand, the pace shows no signs of slowing down. Palantir is clearly on its way to an even more dominant market position.

If you really want to go out of your way to find weaknesses here, growth is still more staggering in the US than in Europe. The valuation is so stretched that even the smallest change in the growth trajectory or regional weakness can be reflected in the share price.

Palantir is currently a completely US-driven story. The number of commercial customers outside the US even decreased by 3 in Q4. But the market doesn’t seem to care much about that right now, as there appears to be more than enough demand in America alone. A great company indeed, as seen again from the numbers, but the valuation is also quite absurd.

There’s only Nvidia and Palantir. Everyone else is far behind. I’m particularly impressed by the following figures:

  1. The fastest-growing SaaS company, generating a GAAP net income of 43% of revenue.

  1. The Net Retention Rate is now 139%. This means that even if no new customers are added, existing ones increase their spending by 39% per year.

  1. “The number of commercial customers outside the US actually decreased by 3 in Q4” → Alex Karp commented on this in the earnings call roughly as follows: “This is not our (Palantir’s) problem, but rather theirs (the Europeans’), for not realizing they should use our excellent services.”

A culture war is raging in the USA, perhaps more intensely than ever, so Palantir and Alex Karp have also adopted a new stance regarding the company’s position in this battle.

Alex Karp has described Palantir’s position in relation to the “woke right” and “woke left,” emphasizing the company’s deliberately opposing stance toward both sides. The message is that Palantir does not side with either camp in the culture war; instead, it defines itself as “anti-woke” and distinct from the “woke” trends of both the right and the left. With this strategic choice, Palantir distinguishes itself from many other Silicon Valley companies.

This holds both threats and opportunities.

There are threats in the sense that Palantir is already in the crosshairs of both extremes, and the narrative of a surveillance society is being reinforced by the constant scrutiny. In the long run, this could reduce partnership opportunities if the brand continues to become more toxic, as has already occurred with its cooperation with ICE. This perception negatively impacts partnership opportunities, particularly in Europe.

On the other hand, there are opportunities in the sense that Palantir aligns itself with the “average” American. This framing provides Palantir with an opportunity to position itself as a company that understands the frustrations of the average citizen and acts on their behalf. Palantir’s narrative supports the idea that ordinary Americans stay safer thanks to the system, and, for example, the spread and use of fentanyl can be curtailed. Furthermore, through this strategic choice, Palantir is able to remain useful to both Democratic and Republican administrations in the future.

There are no easy shortcuts to understanding and following Palantir. I’ve mentioned before that Adam A.K.A Gokarp is a Palantir OG who works well for me to follow. Well, what does “works well” mean? It means that Adam’s way of explaining things suits me, and I get a clear picture of Palantir’s significance to the US public sector and also to NATO. Now, available via the link, is 1h 20min of the OG’s fresh assessments and facts about Palantir.

Regarding Palantir, I am confident because it is also the Western world’s most significant software platform for modern warfare—the platform is called Maven Smart System. Briefly: MSS is used to coordinate operational resources, equipment, maintenance, and the operation itself. I won’t go into more detail describing it right now. Maven itself is a major deal, but as a bonus, Palantir is the fastest-growing SaaS company in the US for the private sector. I, for one, couldn’t ask for more from a SaaS company. PTFB.

As I pointed out above, the Maven Smart System itself is financially significant. But I put AI to work and asked it to report on Palantir’s deals during the Q1/2026 period. This was the response:

Palantir Technologies: Orders Received January–March 2026

During January–March 2026, Palantir Technologies received several significant orders and entered into strategic agreements around the world. These included major contracts with the U.S. and British governments, as well as expanded collaborations with globally operating industrial companies. The combined value of the most prominent announced orders exceeds approximately 1.3 billion U.S. dollars in that quarter, reflecting the company’s strong growth and expansion. The table below provides a summary of all orders and contracts received by Palantir that were announced during that period:
