Just Bought/Sold Thread (Part 1)

A positive problem…

I have a similar problem. In August, I sold enough shares that were in profit that I had to ask for advice on the forum on how to mitigate tax consequences. However, I didn’t end up going through with the maneuvering into declining prices, even though I threatened to do so at one point.

I’m thinking this is a good opportunity to practice making the stop-loss function a permanent part of trading. I’ll set a tight stop-loss as soon as I hit the buy button, and if it happens to start rising, I’ll keep the stop-loss tight and raise it along with the price. If the stop-losses happen to trigger with small losses, then at least there will be a small loss to offset, so the tax consequences won’t be too severe. :grinning:
