NIH:n syöpätutkimusinstituutin (NCI) kliinisen tutkimuksen keskuksen (CCR) molekyylikuvantamisyksikkö (MIB) on ostamassa Modulight 8500:n laitteen lähi-infrapunavaloon perustuvan fotoimmunoterapian (NIR-PIT) tutkimukseen.
Kaupan arvoa ei julkisteta ainakaan tässä vaiheessa, vaikka kilpailutus ilmeisen muodollinen.
"Notice of Intent: Modulight ML8500 biomedical illumination system (75N98026Q00763) In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Modulight USA, Inc.
The NIH, NCI, CCR, MIB (Molecular Imaging Branch) is conducting research on near-infrared photoimmunotherapy (NIR-PIT), a targeted cancer treatment that uses a monoclonal antibody linked to a light-activated dye. The MIB has been using IR700 as the photoactivatable dye for this research. More recently, the MIB identified a new dye, FI702HKT, which may provide improved performance and may be a better candidate for future patient treatment. These two dyes require different activation wavelengths: 690 nm for IR700 and 680 nm for FI702HKT. In order to compare these agents under controlled and reproducible conditions, the MIB requires a light delivery system capable of supporting both wavelengths and precise experimental control. The branch currently has other laser systems from Modulight and for continuity of research data and protocols, the MIB is requesting to purchase the ML8500 automatic illuminator system.
