Inquiries, dismay, and hype regarding stock prices and their changes (Part 4)

ONDS - Eight breached! I’m a bit hesitant if it has become overvalued, but I don’t dare to sell it yet.

Nordea and Saab at all-time highs. Should probably lighten up on one or even both. Considered.

What is this ATH that is so often mentioned here? Like unicorns, I have heard of such a thing, but I have never seen one in real life.

It describes the price at which these small Helsinki-based companies entered investment portfolios for so-called long-term holding about four years ago.

Thank you, Verneri. Even you, my Brutus. :frowning:

Plug and Fcel have risen from the dead, with a 100% return in a month. Experts, tell me again what changed in these companies – I haven’t been following, so I’m asking out of laziness, in a way. Has Trump changed his renewable energy policy, or has the demand for hydrogen applications turned these kiosks profitable? I dare to claim with a straight face that Hyzon and Nikola would also have risen 100% in a month, if they weren’t bankrupt and trading their shares impossible.

It’s as if this madness has been seen before. Seppo is hitting one record after another. Verneri is already starting to show signs of bending – perhaps the valuation is deserved after all.

Information processing and storage, the faster the better – AI’s demands, of course.
No idea how big and significant these will grow, but I have a hunch that perhaps not as quickly as recent price increases suggest.

I tip my hat to those who are now seeing huge daily gains in their portfolios. I’m already a bit in defensive mode and haven’t participated in these parties much beyond the corner of my portfolio. Translated: my stakes are largely in the wrong stocks, or at least they are not in fashion right now.

The world is a joke that serious people don’t understand

Probably that small rise in BLOOM (over 600% in 12 months) has pulled other hydrogen stocks along a bit. The price even went over 3 USD at the beginning of the year.
The Fed interest rate cut caused an additional rise as it will likely help Plug with new financing arrangements, which it truly needs as it has been making losses for over 20 years… but Andy believes and promises for a decent compensation.

Yesterday, the price already started to slide back down as no real changes are visible in that business… it will need political decisions to support it, but that doesn’t seem to be in Trump’s interest.

There’s still a long way to those old prices of over 70 USD…

Such a low-volatility hot dog stand would probably have cratered even worse if Verneri hadn’t hidden his portfolio on Nordnet

Actually, after Shareville was discontinued, it seems you no longer get notifications on your phone about the movements of followed users anyway, so followers aren’t immediately rushing to the sell button.

It’s hard to say what the overall narrative is now from a holistic perspective, and what the main factor is in each industry or investment sector. It delights and amazes me how investing is frighteningly easy again, when all top-10 stocks are bringing +10% to +100% value increase within a month. The common factor in these is AI, technology, Mining/minerals. On the bio side, again, meandering.

Horror and wonder.

I last looked at Ubiquiti 1.5 years ago at over a hundred dollars, but I didn’t consider the stock cheap enough then. Now it has more than sextupled, and this high-quality network device manufacturer is now valued at 40 billion dollars, with revenue exceeding $2.5 billion. Forward P/E 56x.

To top it all off, the company’s growth has always been quite volatile.

I glanced at Reddit at 50 dollars. Its market capitalization is now over 40 billion dollars, while its rapidly growing revenue is less than two billion dollars…

This is probably a skill too: Avoiding rising stocks and 52-week low levels, in the style of Raha-aasi.

You won’t get bored on this ride. Depending on the day ±10%.

I was also looking at whether a Golden Cross had occurred in the Salonkivaunu stock? Or what do the Esteemed Securities Traders and Market Economy Men think?

With Ireni’s 10% daily rise, it has started to dawn on me that I’ve been doing this stock market investing thing all wrong for almost 20 years. Previously, for example:

  1. I don’t buy just because a friend is hyping it.
  2. I try to analyze the market and the company’s business myself.
  3. I have avoided companies with an astronomical P/E.

Now that I did the exact opposite, it’s +30% on the board in a few weeks :man_shrugging:t3:

I wish I had also put in some YOLO amount

I don’t know if anyone caught on to this ABAT when I bought and presented it the day before yesterday. Here we go again, almost 50% profit since Monday.

Yes, I did, thanks for the tip. I bought this on Monday at 3.44 USD.

It took me a while, but we grabbed it @ 4.13 USD. I was initially more interested in the $EVTL you shared. If I end up going with that and it also takes off, I promise to buy you a beer.

Yes, I admit I followed suit again! After Ondasin and ABAT, your track record is such that there’s no room to stay on the sidelines. I need to upgrade the promised beers to something a bit fancier

Fluence Energy has risen over 50% in a week. Now if there were some data center-related news from them, a short squeeze could be possible?
