I think this is an interesting and thought-provoking tweet about AMD, regarding how it has performed over the years and what the returns look like for its entire investment history:
In that case, one could of course say that a rise of over 150% in a month serves as a warning sign, as such moves fall into the category of parabolic rockets. Usually, the larger the rise, the sharper the correction in store at some point. Of course, this doesnât mean the stock couldnât still go up; for example, a well-known case from last autumn mentioned on the forum was ABAT, which rose about 380% in a month, but was immediately followed by a drop of about 70%. ![]()

. Some pump-and-dump is going on over on X, but many seem to believe in the fundamentals too. Iâve gone paper hands and sold a quarter of my position. Been buying in 4 batches since Christmas.

Surely this canât go down any further?

S&P 500 at 7,000 today, face it. Being a cash guy is not good in the long run.
From a more exotic direction, a defense sector company in my portfolio: Finland-based Bittium. Itâs trying to keep up with its larger peers in terms of returns; YTD +14%, with a 3-year return of just under +700%.
Digitalistâs share price is interesting to follow, low volume and wild movements (mainly downward movements)

Hacksaw ATL, itâs been a pretty steady slide since the Q3 report.

Good lord, the so-called âcrap companyâ Nokian Tyres over the last 6 months: + 68% !!
In connection with the Q4 earnings disappointment last February, analyst Rauli cut the target price by 25% and turned âpermanentlyâ pessimistic about earnings growth, and has more or less stuck to that view of fair value. When the share price corrected upwards again in the summer, logically it was time to turn the recommendation negative. The Model Portfolio (Mallisalkku) sold immediately. And even after that, the price has gone up about 31%!
Basically, though, I intended this post to hype up the stock price, as it has risen handsomely, even though in my own head Iâve mostly been taking a beating all year long while closely following Rauliâs analyses.
A blessing in disguise that I havenât sold, as I donât feel the original thesis has changed that radically. So in a way, I believed the 2024 version of Rauli more than a few data points and the 2025 Rauli. It wouldnât surprise me at all if Iâve been on the right side for all the wrong reasons
. All gains count, though

The razor-thin rise of Norwegian oil companies was heartening today. Referring to the previous message, Nokian Tyres needs to put up strong numbers to justify the recent rally. For instance, a Q4 EPS of 10 cents wonât be enough. Itâs interesting how junk stocks have been the best gainers lately.
Your perspective seems a bit too short-sighted. The market does look further ahead. Personally, I assume that a lot is already baked into the Q1 results.
For example, see the link below regarding the cold and snowy period in Central and Eastern Europe. The share price started to take off around Epiphany.
Edit. That is the target market, and what could be a more favorable condition than exceptional weather where people end up âslipping and slidingâ without all-season tires.
Buffett bought shares in five Japanese companies a while ago, a roughly 10% stake in each company. Their value has risen and risen, and over the last 6 months, the share prices have increased by 33-66% per company. Personally, Iâm following along with a âpiggybackingâ strategy in all five of these with roughly equal amounts. The performance has been truly staggering.

SAUCE !

A minor fire in the lounge car, but this is fine overall.

Looks like a five-year low for Evo. Itâs been a pathetic stock to own and at times Iâve exited entirely, but it always finds its way back into my portfolio⊠since itâs so cheap and player counts are at ATH!
UBS has lowered the target price to 500 kronor, which will likely weigh on the share price. So itâs a good time to add more, and I loaded up again even though my previous buys are over 30% in the red. P/E under 10 and player numbers are indeed at ATH, and additionally, Kenneth Darthâs maneuvers at Flutter are raising eyebrows (in a positive way).
This will probably be another failed investment in my investing career. Oh well, luckily itâs just money.
The $80 psychological barrier in silver has been broken in style, and weâre already in a new decade. A 200% increase in 12 months.
Duell in a moderate decline with moderate volume following todayâs results.
