Inquiries, gasps, and cheers regarding stock prices and their changes (Part 3)

Now for Kuutti :seal: the sky is the limit again, after we broke through the €60 ceiling :rocket:
I have to give myself a pat on the back. My addition hit the bottom of the stock price perfectly, after trying hard enough :star_struck:

I wonder if there’s been some good news. Quite a spike. image

Well then. It seems Qt currently represents 20-25% of my portfolio. Even there, a sale hit 149 euros thanks to the missus… Buybacks in three tranches: the first at €70, the second at €39, and the third at €47.

My guess is that this is that ā€œefficient marketā€ at work. +4% today, -3% tomorrow. Then some Shareville-style discussion on why it’s going up and why it’s going down and if now is a good time to buy.

This holding has really made me scratch my head. On top of this, with year-end tax selling, it’ll be a 1€ stock :joy::upside_down_face::wink::roll_eyes:

Already down about ~67% from its peaks. Peaks were somewhere around 5.6€ and today it already hit a low near 1.8€. It’s grim

The bots went totally haywire with Quutti, it was a proper pump & dump

The earnings were well-received by the market, and the app is getting math and music in an update. Add a bit of AI hype and a high beta on top.

How to identify a quality company?

  1. Doesn’t pay a decent dividend, even if they have the cash
  2. Wastes money on share buybacks and cancels them
  3. Then prints new shares for the executive management

Shareholders reward even the smallest gains like this:

Solid! I would have liked to put a bit into this myself, but I don’t have anything to put in :sob: My final paycheck hits the account sometime around the turn of the year, so I’m ā€œbrutally late like the folks from Nurmo!ā€ Damn, it really eats at you.

But congrats to the owners. I’ve been a supporting member for 136 days already

Insiders have started buying this this month. One of Coeus Invest’s stocks which they have apparently now let go of.

I took a look at its forecasts on Marketscreener. If anyone thinks Kempower or Qt are expensive, they are nothing compared to this. Duolingo would have to deliver some pretty massive beats for even the 2026 P/E to be at any reasonable level .

I wonder what the record is? But I haven’t seen beats like this in ages

Consensus 39 cents, actual 87 cents, so only +123% vs. expectations…

Those fearing a catastrophic earnings report were surprised when it was just bad, but not catastrophic. Now there’s a meme-rally, but as Q4 approaches, we’ll be sliding down in panic again, as they still need to hit the 20% lower bound of the full-year growth forecast—which is a tall order  Oh well. Let’s take the meme gains.

Earnings reporters Plug and Unity are racing in after-hours. Didn’t quite hit the mark, it seems.

Could today be the day, following Powell’s speech and Tesla’s symbolic HSBC ā€œreduceā€ recommendation, that this AI hype and the Magnificent 7 start taking an honest setback as we approach Nvidia’s earnings release (21.11.2023), for instance?

These stocks are being hyped as cheap on various forums, citing forward P/E ratios that contain absolutely incredible assumptions  as far as I understand, not a single insider from the management team has been on the buy side in 2023, but has instead been selling as fast as they can; who knows if they have such poor visibility that they don’t perceive the potential reflected through the forward P/E…

NVIDIA seemed to bounce a bit again today as the R&D department reacted to regulatory changes at pace

Amusingly, that best ā€œChina-crippledā€ model bypassing export restrictions is faster than NVIDIA’s flagship H100 if used for LLM inferencing.

The pattern seems clear. The US government comes up with restrictions, NVIDIA bypasses the restrictions, and the chip peddling continues.

Kamux interestingly +5% right at the open, but now 30 minutes later -2%
So, were the results good or bad?

Kamux has risen quite quickly during the beginning of November, probably because a good result was anticipated based on the general development of the car market. I don’t know what kind of miracle was expected, but there is a slight aftertaste of a scam market here.
