If anyone is impatiently wondering why we haven’t locked in a date yet, I first have to wait for my wife to return from France so we can get our holiday booked. By the beginning of next week at the latest, we’ll be able to vote on a suitable date for the meetup.

Once the date is known, we can estimate the indicative number of participants and think about a suitable setting for the group.

In my opinion, there is a fairly moderately priced pub right next to Helsinki city center, Sköne, located at Kanavaranta 7 D, Helsinki. Usually, it’s not very crowded and it’s easy to find space even for a larger group without a prior reservation. The beer is high-quality and cold, the price is medium, and for being in the vicinity of Helsinki city center, it’s even on the affordable side.

Is @Hillo-Heikki by any chance a shareholder in Sköne?

I was thinking the same, that we’ll soon have to book the Messukeskus (Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre).

But even if we pick a day that suits as many as possible, unfortunately many will have to miss out due to travel and other commitments. I suspect that the final number of participants will be much smaller than the number of those interested.

But if there are too many participants, that’s just a positive problem. We’ll always find solutions for that
