Update: This past weekend, after a break of a few weeks, email messages from subscribed threads started coming in again. At least on my end, I didn’t notice any reason for the incident ![]()
Anyway, it’s very impractical to open this information in its own window. If someone ever wants to view the likers, the old model was perfectly sufficient for that (and it actually showed more icons). The change, I don’t like it.
It would be nice to hear what drove this change. Was there a problem with the previous one?
If I want to specifically check who liked my message, then I would naturally want to see all the likers, and not just the first 16 ![]()
I was already annoyed by the unknown likers when the message received over 200 likes.
The destruction of the like button has indeed been wished for here. I thought about creating several fake accounts to secretly like my own and my friends’ posts.
A discussion about this has been opened on the main Discourse forum. The development team has had another brilliant idea there, as they don’t get a large number of likes on their own forum…
I can no longer see who has liked messages. Previously, likes were visible when pressing the three dots. Has this been intentionally removed or is there a new way to do this?

Tap the number before the heart.

Thanks for the messages @Vanerihands, @Ituhippinen, @CitizenJ , @Pohjolan_Eka and @pasi.lahteenmaki!
As Eka mentioned, this came as a side effect of a larger Discourse update rolled out yesterday. This also came as a surprise to me and caused strong “don’t fix it if it ain’t broken” vibes. I’m in contact with Discourse and hopefully we can get the old button back ![]()
Another bad change is that clicking on the liker’s icon now opens the entire profile, whereas previously it would open a profile preview.
Has a solution been found for this? This is somehow related to the fact that this text box and the page itself can be scrolled separately. Below is a picture of the cursor that has ended up in the wrong place.
Below is a screenshot showing the blue cursor in the wrong spot.

It would be nice if a thread could somehow be ‘marked as unread’ just like an email, and specifically so that the number of unread messages is visible next to the title. Then one could even find the point where reading the thread originally stopped.
Sometimes, for one reason or another, one ends up in an unread message in the middle of a string of unread messages, and then the counter annoyingly gets messed up, when one would want to read the earlier unread messages later…
And if I click on a discussion title from the main view, it takes me to the last message of that discussion. This is annoying too.
Long live the return to the old like button (at an unspecified time)!

As a temporary solution, I came up with using a bookmark for the last message I read, but somehow this doesn’t feel good yet. I’ve never understood why that counter function is so vulnerable and resets or something similar so easily.
For your information, data provider Millistream is experiencing issues with press releases, so the latest press releases are not currently visible on the inderes.fi website. Apologies for the disruption, I will inform you when it’s fixed!
Edit: This was fixed at 11 AM. Apologies again for the trouble!
